You will find something for everyone here at the largest state fair in the nation. Start with the Professional Rodeo Association performances in Tingley Coliseum followed by a concert that will showcase 20 internationally known entertainers. Stop by the midway and checkout the excitement of rides and games of skill. The snacks are plentiful with the classic cotton candy, caramel apples, and snow cones. The exhibit halls are packed with the finest arts, crafts and livestock that New Mexico has to offer. While you're visiting the balloon festival, make sure to stop by this artsy gala. The arts and crafts showcase features artists from the Southwest and around the world. The scope of talent is amazing. Wood workers and blacksmiths, sculptors, painters, potters, weavers and jewelers exhibit and sell their work at reasonable prices. Some of the biggest shows in New Mexico are held at the Coliseum including the annual State Fair. An interesting feature of this venue is its retractable performance stage. After say, a musical event, the entire stage can be elevated in to the ceiling, leaving the floor bare for other activities. This proves useful during major events such as the National Team Roping Championships and the International Arabian Horse show.
