Grill/Smokehouse |
9600 Tramway Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87122 United States +1 505 856 7477 http://www.countyline.com |
Long recognized for serving some of the best barbecued brisket, ribs, chicken, and sausage in New Mexico, if not the entire southwest, this chain restaurant is the perfect stop for anyone in search of sloppy comfort food. Its heightened perch along the base of the Sandia Mountains further adds to its appeal by being one of the nation's only rib joints featuring panoramic views. The all-you-can-eat platter, for about USD15, is the hit of the menu. Kid's portions makes it family friendly. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Located along the Rio Grande Bosque, this restaurant's shaded patio draws diners from throughout New Mexico. Established in 1962, this dining gem has maintained its reputation for serving authentic New Mexican dishes. A number of tables are situated in private nooks for more private, romantic dining. Award-winning salsa precedes each meal. Generous portions of New Mexican dishes such as carne adovada, chile rellenos, enchiladas, and burritos are offered. As utlimate proof of its glowing reputation it has been visited by President Bush and Mick Jagger (separately, of course). Review © 2007, Wcities |

Restaurant and cantina |
2100 Louisiana Blvd NE Winrock Mall Albuquerque, NM 87112 United States +1 505 880 0055 http://www.gardunosrestaurants... |
There is no need to wander south of the border when one can enjoy great Mariachi music, great food and great margaritas in Albuquerque's own backyard. The menu, not surprisingly, offers a wide array of Mexican favorites ranging from sizzling fajitas to burritos the size of rolled up beach towels. For the indecisive the combination plate featuring tamales, tacos, rolled enchiladas, burritos and pasole is a fine choice. A children's menu makes it family friendly. Sunday brunch is very popular. Dine atop the tram |
40 Tramway Road Northeast (at the top of the Sandia Peak Tram) Albuquerque, NM 87122 United States +1 505 243 9742 http://www.highfinancerestaura... |
Perched high on the ridgeline of the Sandia Mountains at 10,400 feet, the only way to reach this restaurant is via the Sandia Peak Tramway. But do not let the remote setting fool you. This is one of the finest dining experiences in the area, and would be even without the awe-inspiring view. The kitchen offers a something-for-everybody menu ranging from seafood to steaks, including a Black Angus prime rib. The green chile stew enjoys coveted status as a starter. This is a great restaurant for impressing. Review © 2007, Wcities |

New Mexican food |
4901 Lomas Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87110 United States +1 505 255 5079 http://www.loscuatesrestaurant... |
To reason that this restaurant is only popular because of its budget-happy prices would be a slanderous insult to the kitchen. The menu specializes in authentic New Mexican fare featuring such popular choices as chicken tacos, hefty enchiladas, and a Chile Relleno that comes so smothered in cheese that one wonders if perhaps the chef has direct ties with the Wisconsin cheese industry. If the tongue begs for something other than Mexican there is also a decent selection of burgers and sandwiches. Beer and wine is available. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Authentic Greek food |
2210 Central Ave SE Albuquerque, NM 87106 United States +1 505 266 5222 |
This family owned and operated Greek Cafe has a refreshingly throwback look to it, harkening back to Route 66's glory days when Albuquerque was one of the main stops. Located across from the University of New Mexico, it enjoys great local popularity, making long lunch lines the norm rather than the exception. Its gyros enjoy star-of-the-menu status, partly due to the homemade pita bread. The tiropitas and the spanakopita also come highly rated. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Famous green chile cheese burgers |
800 Eubank Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87123 United States +1 505 291 4900 |
The original Owl Cafe was born 150 miles south of Albuquerque and grew in popularity among desert travelers and nuclear scientists on their way to, or through, White Sands Missile Range. The Albuquerque location was built in the early 1990s to resemble a 1950s-era diner. Although the atmosphere is decidedly different from the original cafe, the cheeseburgers are the same and they go for $4.50. Add the onion twirls and you will have more than a meal. Daily Blue Plate Specials sell for $6. Homemade cakes, cookies and pies are available, but few customers have room left. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Good salsa & margaritas |
6230 Fourth St NW Albuquerque, NM 87107 United States +1 505 345 5339 http://www.sadiessalsa.com/ |
This popular place in the North Valley once served their great food from a bowling alley location. A full service bar is available in this hacienda-style restaurant. The salsa is so good it is sold in restaurants around New Mexico and the margaritas are equally as superb. Salsa and chips are bottomless and served the minute you settle into your seat. The menu offers favorites like chile rellenos, enchiladas and stuffed sopapillas. American standards including steak and sandwiches are also available. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Authentic Japanese cuisine |
9500 Montgomery Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87111 United States +1 505 275 6601 |
This restaurant offers wonderful food accompanied by good theater. Some Teppan kitchens and sushi bars concentrate on style forgetting substance, but there is no need to worry about that here. The servings are more than adequate whether you choose the sushi bar, or the more formal Teppan grill. Some of the Sashimi specials are priced for the big spender with price tags from USD69 to USD120. Each meal comes with soup, salad, fried rice and assorted vegetables. Review © 2007, Wcities |

You cannot help but relax once you settle in at this popular bistro located in the Nob Hill Shopping Center. Sit by the huge plate-glass window and take-in busy Route 66 or go upstairs for a quieter, cozier setting. The menu features antipasti and pasta. The Specialita Della Casa (House Specialties) includes a double-cut grilled pork chop, and a Roasted bacon-wrapped trout. The well-stocked bar offers something for everyone. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fine dining in the north valley |
1119 Alameda Blvd NW Albuquerque, NM 87114 United States +1 505 792 1700 http://www.terrabistro.com |
Drive to the North Valley and unwind in this contemporary, bistro-style setting with an outdoor patio for warm weather. The cuisine is New American and the wine list is lengthy. The restaurant is open for lunch and reservations are suggested for dinner. The appetizers and salads include griddled Crab and Corn Cakes while a traditional Caesar salad will bring some spice to your first course. Entrees such as Del Verde brand linguini and pan-roasted, smoked Pork Loin with braised greens may be a little pricey, but you will enjoy them. Review © 2007, Wcities |
