Nice family place |
Prins Hendrikkade 23 Amsterdam, NH 1012 TM Netherlands +31 20 624 1942 http://www.atrainhotel.com/ |
Yes, you guessed it! This hotel lies right opposite the Central Station, in the heart of the city. The A-Train hotel has had a face-lift and has ample room and all the basic amenities for comfortable living. The non-smoking apartment with five beds, kitchenette, fridge and microwave with a children's play area is a great proposition for large families looking for a cost-effective holiday. The hotel offers a good breakfast but no dining options. But thanks to its location, the best of restaurants are at an arm's distance. Here's a no-frills, no-fuss accommodation at a decent price. Over the past few years, the Westerpark has become the most vivid cultural area of Amsterdam. It hosts several bars, daytime cafés, a movie theater, and this club. The latest edition to the park's cultural playground, Flexbar is known for its music. While the décor is quite sober and kept to a minimum, the club's programming ranges in diversity: there are live performances, 80s nights, internationally acclaimed DJs, resident nights with Amsterdam's most popular DJs, and much more. There is something –or some night, for everybody. Considering its location and programming, this club should definitely be on your to-do list when exploring Amsterdam's nightlife. -Sandy Hayes Review © 2007, Wcities |

If the classical architecture of the Hotel Seven One Seven doesn't impress you, the breathtaking view of the city surely will. Designed by noted Dutch fashion designer and decorator Kees van der Valk, each of the eight suites in the guestroom has a personality of its own. Listed as a historical site, the restored heritage building with its dark interiors blends the old world charm of a 19th century home with the amenities of modern life. The name of the hotel is inspired by the street address of the canal itself. With the exception of the 'Room on Top', all the other rooms are named after famous figures from the world of art such as Goethe, Picasso and Shakespeare. Review © 2007, Wcities |
