This is quite a large bar, located near Dam Square. It is close to a part of the University and is frequented by students. Schuim translates as "foam", which is probably an indication of their most commonly served drink: beer. Het Schuim is a bit more than your usual student hangout. It gets quite a creative crowd, especially in the evening when the age of the clientèle rises. It looks the part, with that typical "thrown together" interior that seems to be the norm for every trendy bar at the moment. The pictures on the wall, which is used as an art gallery, are changed regularly. Het Schuim will serve about six draught beers and somewhere around 15 bottled beers at any given time. There is almost always one beer that is heavy enough to knock out a small elephant. Review © 2009, Wcities |
