If you are in the mood to try something different, step into Genet. This Ethiopian restaurant beckons with its interesting interior—red tablecloths, dark furniture and interesting artifacts hanging on the walls make for a pleasing dining experience. Try the three-course African meal, or choose from the vegetarian selection. Reserve a table in advance, or pack some dishes to enjoy at home or in the nearby Vondelpark.

This is one of Amsterdam's most recommended restaurants - the food is excellent. A pleasant atmosphere and good service add to the overall experience. Worth mentioning is the Biltong Mousse, which is made from the typical South African dried meat biltong. If you prefer a vegetarian meal, just ask the staff.
