Herengracht 88
Amsterdam, NH 1015 BS
Netherlands
+31 20 624 9635

This traditional Belgian restaurant has a creative system of allowing patrons to "choose their own ambiance." Gastronomical, Belgian Baroque, and "The Living Room" are sections of the restaurant that reflect a different aspect of Belgian food and culture. The menus and wine list in all three sections are extensive. Check the website's menu in the English section to better understand the unique characteristics of each part of the restaurant.

Brakke Grond

Flemish culture in Amsterdam
Nes 43
Amsterdam 1012 KD
Netherlands

This important part of the Flemish Cultural Information Center, Exposition Hall and Theater has clear Flemish characteristics in some of the beers on draught: Jupiter and Leffe. There's small snacks to be had in the pub downstairs and a restaurant on the first floor. The clientele is always mainly Dutch, the roomy interior is furnished in a pleasant style, and the service is very friendly and efficient. The large terrace on De Nes is screened from noisy traffic.

Cafe Restaurant Amsterdam

Large trendy restaurant
Watertorenplein 6
Amsterdam 1051 PA
Netherlands
+31 (0)20 682 2666
http://www.caferestaurantamste...
At this popular local restaurant, guests enjoy a traditional French/Belgian meal in one of the nicest historical industrial buildings in Netherlands. The building was once a water pumping station and the wonderful but simple atmosphere is enhanced by 22 original floodlights from the old Ajax and Olympic stadiums, both legendary soccer stadiums. The food is straightforward but very good, whilst prices remain relatively low. Salads, oysters, fish, soups and steaks all feature on the menu. The wine list comprises a thoughtfully selected cluster of (mostly French) wines. As this is a popular dining spot, it is advisable to reserve a table.

Chez Georges

Belgian all the way
Herenstraat 3
Amsterdam 1015 BX
Netherlands
+31 (0)20 626 3332
After a romantic boat ride along the Amstel River, halt at Chez Georges for a quiet continental dinner. This small but charming restaurant serves up an appetizing Belgian fare. The interiors have a classic influence complemented with mirrors and attractive wallpapers and dim lighting. Be prepared to order a whole seven course meal because, once you start there's no stopping. You can choose the gourmet menu or opt for the a la carte. The special treat comes with a steep price. So be prepared to shell out quite an amount. Go ahead and feast the Belgian way!

De Zotte

Belgian Beer with Dutch Atmosphere
Raamstraat 29
Amsterdam, NH 1016 XL
Netherlands
+31 20 626 8694
http://www.de-flux.org/dezotte/
This place is just off the main tourist area, and all the better for it. For those who manage to find it, there are literally hundreds of different beers to choose from. To help give all that draught a bit of soft landing, they also serve food which is simple, tasty, and (fairly)cheap. The numerous sorts of Belgian beer, bottled or on tap, make it hard to choose, and will keep you on (or falling off) your seat till closing-time. This pub is low-key and very nice for a night of a little beer-experimenting in a friendly atmosphere. -Sandy Hayes

This restaurant, located behind the Singel Flower Market, is known for its delicious French and Belgian cuisine. The ground floor is spacious and has an attached garden where one can dine. The top floor of the restaurant is suitable for holding parties and can accommodate 45 people. The mood is romantic and the service excellent. Het Tuynhuys offers a free glass of champagne if you book through the website, so don't forget to try that option.
