Late night snack attack |
Lange Leidsedwarsstraat 49-51 Amsterdam 1017 NG Netherlands +31 (0)20 622 7434 / +31 (0)20 447 0347 http://www.bojo.nl/ |
If hunger strikes you after some night-time fun in Amsterdam, head down to Bojo. This Indonesian restaurant is known for its late open hours, quick service, and best of all, its affordable prices. Bamboo-covered walls and warm tones make this informal eatery comfortable and welcoming. Unwind as you dig into wholesome Indonesian fare like the Nasi Koening (rice cooked in coconut sauce, mixed with baked chicken, stewed meats, shrimp or vegetables). Although there is no alcohol served in here, you can sip on a variety of juices, teas or shakes. The best way to drive out the late night munchies! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Brasserie for late nights |
Van Baerlestraat 120 Amsterdam 1071 BD Netherlands +31 (0)20 675 0210 http://www.bark.nl |
This brasserie is located near the cultural centre of Amsterdam. The focus here is definitely on fish and seafood. Bark stands out from other nearby restaurants because it is open late until midnight. The interior was recently redesigned and now has an open kitchen, where guests are welcome to have a look around. Much of the clientele here are concert-goers from Museum Square. Being situated in a very important cultural part of Amsterdam, many of Bark's customers are visitors to the multitude of museums in the surrounding area. This is a lively restaurant, which combines a culinary experience with a dynamic atmosphere. It is also one of a group of restaurants known for their excellent customer service. Fish and seafood of all sorts are the specialities here: anything from tuna to shark to crab and dorado can be found on the regularly updated menu. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Typically Dutch |
Plantage Middenlaan 22 Amsterdam 1018 DE Netherlands +31 (0)20 622 5716 http://www.eikenlinde.nl/ |
A very old and queer place is the restaurant Eik en Linde. It's a typical Dutch 'brown' bar and its history dates back to 1858. It has photos and murals on the walls, which tell you various stories and take you back to the past. Food is quite nice and filling, and rest assured, it's easy on your pocket. The staff can be of help if you need them. When it's time to leave, try to look at your own watch as the clock behind can be very confusing, it runs backwards! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Belgian Beer with Dutch Atmosphere |
Raamstraat 29 Amsterdam, NH 1016 XL Netherlands +31 20 626 8694 http://www.de-flux.org/dezotte/ |
This place is just off the main tourist area, and all the better for it. For those who manage to find it, there are literally hundreds of different beers to choose from. To help give all that draught a bit of soft landing, they also serve food which is simple, tasty, and (fairly)cheap. The numerous sorts of Belgian beer, bottled or on tap, make it hard to choose, and will keep you on (or falling off) your seat till closing-time. This pub is low-key and very nice for a night of a little beer-experimenting in a friendly atmosphere. -Sandy Hayes Review © 2007, Wcities |

Relaxed eatery |
Linnaeusstraat 11 Amsterdam 1093 VD Netherlands +31 (0)20 665 0743 |
The restaurant has a very typical essence of the East - from its cane furniture, high windows, yellowish walls to huge elephants painted behind the bar. It's a very chirpy and comfortable place as lots of light flows right through the windows. Food is palatable but not really the best you would find in the region and the staff is pretty affable and helpful. It has an outdoor seating arrangement with a pretty view but during the winter it is quite impossible to sit outside. The crowd that pours in is a mix of tourists, students and locals, especially those who visit the nearby museum. Review © 2007, Wcities |
