Scheltema is one of the best and largest bookstores in Amsterdam and is located right in the heart of the city. It's great for those who are looking for a specific book, wanting expert advice, or simply in the mood to browse for a while. There are no less than seven floors at Scheltema, all packed with books and multimedia such as CD-ROMs. They offer a tremendous amount of literature, especially on topics such as economics, law, science and medicine, some of their specialist fields. If a book isn't available, it can most likely be found in one of their other branches in Amsterdam, so you won't have to wait that long before they have it in the main building.
