You will find the largest number of hotels near Central Station and fewer in the old city centre. The city has an enormous range of hotels and many cater to business travellers. This means that during the weekends prices are often slashed.

There are many stylish and expensive hotels in Antwerp but cheaper accommodation can also be found. Budget hotels and bed and breakfast formulas are also available. However, be aware that 'Kamers' or Rooms has nothing to do with accommodation in Antwerp: it is a discrete way of advertising very intimate services that are rather different from a room for the night.

City Park Area

If we start at the top of the range we have wide choice of first-class hotels around Stadspark or the City Park:, Tulip Inn Astoria, Golden Tulip Carlton and Plaza Hotel are just a few. These are five or four star hotels with all amenities and a fantastic location. You're in a pleasant neighbourhood and near the diamond trading centre.

The Mercure Diamond Hotel is in the same league but just outside the city centre near the motorway. The Astrid Plaza hotel opposite the station and with its impressive modern design has quickly become an icon in the city centre.

In the Old City

The Antwerp Hilton is situated in the older part of the city on the Groenplaats and near the Cathedral. In this area you'll find some really unique small hotels like De Witte Lelie, a so-called petit grand hotel, the very picturesque Rubens Hotel just behind the Grote Markt and Villa Mozart opposite the Cathedral. For those seeking something different, consider lodging on the Diamond Princess, a hotel-boat or 'floatel'. The converted mail boat lies in the oldest section of Antwerp's harbour.

Reasonably Priced Hotels and Guesthouses

Accommodation at more reasonable prices can be found in various neighbourhoods in and around Antwerp and also in some of the districts like Edegem, Mortsel and Berchem.

Cheap accommodation is available around the station (Billiard Palace) in the Sailors Quarter (Zeemanshuis) and for example Rubenshof in The South district. There is also a youth hostel.

Guesthouses with bed and breakfast are also very popular in the Berchem area, around the Antwerp Court of Justice and along the wide avenues Amerikalei and Italiëlei.

Belgium

http://www.parkplaza.com/antwe...
This is one of the largest hotels in Antwerp. The building was designed by Michael Graves and was finished in the late nineties. Its imposing style and dominant location on the Koningin Astridplein created a lot of controversy amongst the local residents. Now the hotel attracts lots of famous people and brings businessmen back into the center of Antwerp. Opposite the beautiful Central Station and the Eurostar terminal, the location of this hotel is ideal. There are 10 conference rooms.

Billard Palace

A good location
Koningin Astridplein 40
Antwerp 2018
Belgium
This hotel is very well situated on the Astridplein, opposite the Centraal Station. On the first floor of the building they have a snooker room with more then 20 snooker tables. This is a basic hotel lacking the charm and warmth of the better hotels in Antwerp. However, if you are planning a night out on the town you can use this place to recuperate.

The Cathedral's construction began in 1352, and ended in 1518, resulting in the largest Gothic church in the Netherlands. Learn its amazing history, from the 'iconoclastic fury' of 1566 that destroyed much of the interior, to the repairs that discovered beautiful murals beneath the whitewashed walls. The cathedral was furnished with renaissance, baroque, rococo and classical works of art, which were plundered by French revolutionaries, though many were returned. The exceptional stained-glass windows are 16th and 17th century.

Central Station

An impressive station
Koningin Astridplein
Antwerp 2000
Belgium
People who arrive by train at the Central Station will marvel at this splendid and grand station in neo-baroque style. Visitors are shocked and surprised when they hear that about 10 years ago the city authorities wanted to demolish it. Luckily, they decided to restore the station which was commissioned by King Leopold II, built between 1898 and 1905 and designed by architect Delacenserie. The main entrance of the station is on the De Keyserlei/Meir, the most important shopping streets of Antwerp. The entrance to the Zoo is just around the corner.

City Park

The city's central park
Rubenslei, Van Eycklei
Quinten Matsijslei
Antwerp 2000
Belgium
In Antwerp there are several gardens and parks, which are a welcome oasis in the busy city, and one of the most important parks is the Stadspark or City Park. This triangular park is situated between Rubenslei, Van Eycklei and Quinten Matsijslei and in these elegant avenues, named after the famous artists, you'll find some of Antwerp's most exclusive hotels. The diamond center and shopping streets are nearby. This is a pleasant park for walks but always be on your guard in the evenings. Other interesting parks in Antwerp are the Kielpark in St-Bernardsesteenweg, the Koning Albertpark named after the late King Albert I in Mechelsesteenweg and the smaller but most charming Plantentuin or Botanical Garden in Leopoldstraat.

One of the largest squares in the city, Groenplaats is the ideal starting point for visitors of the historic center. It gets quite busy during the summer tourist season. You'll enjoy numerous café terraces and restaurants. Street musicians provide background music, and the pubs provide great Belgian beers. Don't forget to try a Bolleke Koninck, a light brown ale which is brewed in Antwerp. Nearby you'll find cute copper, pewter and lace shops, the Fnac bookstore, the Hilton and the Cathedral.

Grote Market

Antwerp's Grand Place
Grote Markt
Antwerp 2000
Belgium
The Grote Markt (Grand Market Square) is a splendid sight right in the middle of the city. Dominated by the renaissance style Stadhuis (city hall), the square is lined with numerous guildhalls, high patrician houses with step gables and gold-plated ornaments and statuettes. The famous tavern Den Engel is located here. Admire the Brabo fountain, the late 19th century statue of the legendary Roman Silvius Brabo, who saved Antwerp from Druon the giant. Enjoy a Belgian beer, a Brussels waffle, or coffee at one of the cafés.

The South

Antwerp
Belgium
The south of Antwerp houses its main attraction, the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten (Royal Museum of Fine Arts). This temple for the arts houses a large collection of paintings by some of Antwerp's most prized painters -- Rubens, Van Dijck and Jordaens. However, if this gallery isn't exactly your cup of tea, there are plenty more to explore in this neighbourhood. Try the Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen (Museum of Contemporary Art) or the personal gallery of Hans Beers at Kunstgalerij Isabella Brant. Although high housing costs used to scare away the younger crowd from this area, a price drop in the 1980s brought a more "youthful" crowd to the area. Now you'll find many fine brasseries and bistros that serve great food at reasonable prices, priding themselves on the diversity and quality of the food.
