A Civil War landmark as well as an expansive in-town green, Candler Park offers tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, and an outdoor pool. Perhaps the park's most unique feature is its nine-hole golf course that winds its scenic way through one of the East side's most pleasant residential neighborhoods. Often crowded, Candler Park is not the ideal place for a quiet jog, but sports are always being played and everyone is welcome.

Centered around a large, convoluted lake, the course at Dogwood presents a barrage of water hazards sufficient to test the mettle of any serious golfer. The tight, par-72 bentgrass course negotiates a twisting path of doglegs and double-backs along its 6,375-yard length. Green fees, including cart, are $43 on weekdays and $45 on weekends, with a twilight special of $35 most weekdays. A driving range, small pro shop and rental clubs are also available. Dogwood is located about 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta, and is open to the public.

This golf club has a rich history and a distinct reputation on the golf circuit. Over 40 regional and national champions have emerged from this prestigious course. Bobby Jones and Charlie Yates went on to win the British Amateur championships as well. It has played host to over 17 major championships, such as the 1950 U.S. Women's Amateur, 1963 Ryder Cup, 101st United States Amateur Championship, and the PGA TOUR Championship. It has an 18-hole golf course and a clubhouse designed by architect Harry Leslie Walker. There's also a special enclosure reserved only for members. Thirty minutes from downtown, this par-72 championship course flows through 7,200 yards of bucolic North Georgia foothills, and is open to the public year-round. Conference and banquet facilities are also onsite to accommodate up to 300 guests, and the Mill House Restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily.

Southerness Golf Club offers one of the toughest public course challenges in Georgia. Situated just east of the city in Stockbridge, Southerness boasts several long par fours with shots that constantly test a player's accuracy over water and among sand traps. There is a driving range and practice area along with a well-stocked pro-shop and grill. I-20 East to Exit 36 (Wesley Chapel Road). Turn right at exit, travel until first stop light, and take left onto Snapfinger Road. Travel 7 miles to Alexander Lake and take left. Course is 2 miles down the road.

The Club also has extensive tennis courts, an olympic-sized swimming pool, a fitness center, and children's activities. Like any country club, they also have social and family events- for members only, of course.
