Hanging tough at its original location downtown, the Busy Bee is a hometown favorite for no-nonsense, down-home cooking. The locals outnumber tourists, a telling indicator of the Busy Bee's style. Red faux-leather booths line one wall, opposed by an old-time diner-style counter with red faux-leather-topped stools. No fancy "New Southern" pretenses here, just bona fide Dixie standbys like fried chicken, oxtails, smothered pork chops, fresh fried corn, greens, and candied yams.
