Dressed up Diner |
3073 Piedmont Road Atlanta, GA 30305 United States +1 404 262 3336 http://www.buckheadrestaurants... |
An evening at this trendy spot may reveal a celebrity or two, as well as some of Buckead's most dressed-up diners. Funky Art Deco decor spices up this glorified diner, with booths and sassy waitresses to match. The menu covers the basics, but pulls some creative twists. Try the famous homemade potato chips with Maytag bleu cheese dressing, or Atlanta's fanciest meatloaf, comprised of veal and wild mushrooms. A diner-style bar with swivel stools serves cocktails to Atlanta's chic and stylish as they endure the frequent wait for a table. Review © 2009, Wcities |

A little jazz, a little dinner |
290 Hilderbrand Drive Atlanta, GA 30328 United States +1 404 256 3942 |
The perfect spot for local jazz is among the suburban offices of Sandy Springs and Roswell Road. Cafe 290 offers live jazz all week as well as good food. Steak and seafood selections are prepared well and complemented by a nice wine list, but most folks come for the music. The dining area is decked out to resemble a jazz club of old, and surrounds the small performance stage. Be sure to book reservations if you want to eat during the show. Full bar service is provided. Cattle Talk and Cocktails |
1600 Piedmont Road Atlanta, GA 30306 United States +1 404 874 3751 http://www.cowtippersatlanta.com/ |
This spirited Midtown roadhouse is supported by a largely gay clientèle, but welcomes all for some of the best prairie fare this side of the Rio Grande. Offering perfectly-rendered steaks, chops, ribs, chicken and barbecue, Cowtippers has garnered consistent awards since opening in 1993. Eclectic art and western artifacts adorn the walls of the rambling, 60-year-old building, while a Texas-sized patio tempts guests to park their plates outside. Be sure to sample the "Rita" menu, a listing of the bar's enormous and enormously-popular margarita concoctions. Review © 2009, Wcities |

Where business minds unwind |
17 International Blvd Atlanta, GA 30303 United States +1 404 681 3303 http://www.daileysrestaurant.com/ |
Casual sophistication awaits at this downtown restaurant, opened in 1981 in a two-story, turn-of-the-century warehouse. Businessmen frequent this establishment, decorated with carousel horses and leather booths, and often head straight for the martini and cigar bar to unwind or settle in for a meal. The menu ranges from Continental, such as escargot and filet mignon in a Cabernet sauce, to creative American offerings like Dailey's heralded fried ice cream. Live entertainment is featured nightly in the bar. Wine tastings are hosted on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Review © 2009, Wcities |

A Little Bit of Midtown |
485 Flat Shoals Ave Atlanta, GA 30316 United States +1 404 522 7841 http://www.eastsidelounge.net/ |
When the hipsters come out to play in East Atlanta, this is where they meet up. Much clubbier than the quiet taverns typical of this neighborhood, the Eastside Lounge has carved out its own niche and attracted a following from all over Atlanta. A long bar flanks the left side of the dimly-lit lower room, while upstairs, patrons sit in the loft lounge and watch art house flicks projected on the wall. A limited menu is available during the dinner hour, but most don't show up here to eat. DJs live Monday through Saturday. Review © 2009, Wcities |

New restaurant with flair |
800 Peachtree Street Atlanta, GA 30308 United States +1 404 685 3191 http://www.enorestaurant.com/ |
Located in a developing loft district on the edge of downtown, Eno was founded by Jamie Adams, former chef at Veni Vidi Vici, one of Atlanta's most respected Italian restaurants. The beautiful wine bar is a spacious room dominated by floor-to-ceiling windows, while the dining room is a little cozier with white tablecloths and a formal ambiance. The predominantly Mediterranean menu includes a nice selection of lamb and seafood dishes, as well as game hen and steak. The appetizers include some exotic combinations, and are very popular. This upscale ultra lounge and club is a great place to chill with friends or dance the night away. The bright lights and neon colors help get the party started and keep it going all night long. Jambalaya, Ettoufee & Tunes |
1104 Crescent Ave NE (14th Street) Atlanta, GA 30309 United States +1 404 897 3500 http://www.fpnnews.com |
The unusual journalism motif suits itself well to the outgoing crowd that packs this Midtown club most nights. The martinis and the beer choices are second to none, and the Cajun fare gets high marks from local papers and diners alike. A roaring fireplace sets the mood in cooler months, while the garden-like patio is the place to be during fair weather. More laid back than the higher-profile clubs of Midtown, Front Page offers great local bands most nights, and its central location makes it a great post-theater cocktail destination. Heavenly Martinis |
1026 North Highland Ave NE (at Virginia Avenue) Atlanta, GA 30306 United States +1 404 875 3673 http://www.restaurant.com/micr... |
A lot goes on at this hippest of Highlands corners, which sits snugly beneath the sidewalk at Highland and Virginia Avenues. Cozy up to the bar with the sleek after-work crowd, then stay late as the locals filter in. Dim lights and exposed stone walls set a romantic, if crowded scene. The rear section doubles as an upscale steakhouse, open for lunch and dinner daily, as well as weekend brunch. Play your cards right, and the folks here will serve you a steak at the bar well into the night. Review © 2009, Wcities |

M all the way! |
257 Peters Street Southwest Castleberry Hill Atlanta, GA 30311 United States +1 404 523 1555 http://www.mbaratlanta.com/ |
One question that haunts every visitor to this joint is the name M Bar. Well the letter M stands for margaritas, martinis and music—the three USPs of this lounge. Of course the hip crowd, the late open hours and the moth-watering pub grub come next. Downs a few drinks as you participate in some banter with your colleagues after work, or revel in the music that is churned out by the hunky DJ. A separate vodka and tequila bar is open to all party animals. Though a little hard to believe, it is true that the spot can be a good option for a date—yes it is romantic and mushy! If you want to sample some traditional, all-American fare in Alpharetta, there is no place better than Milton's. Step into this chic lounge to be treated like royalty—after all, it's the hip and happening crowds that grace it with their presence! The high ceilings, crimson and black hues, ancient furniture, and darkwood floor make for a very sophisticated ambience. Come by during the weekend to groove to the beats of a celebrity DJ. This smashing upscale dining spot in suburban Marietta caters to a well-heeled clientele that appreciates exquisite Continental dishes in a charming setting. The antiquated building faces Marietta Square, the picturesque, historic seat of Cobb County. Sip a glass from the fine wine selections while listening to classical piano music tinkling in from the bar. Favorites include the steaks, enormous salads and the occasional traditional regional item. Proper attire is required and reservations are strongly recommended. Review © 2009, Wcities |

Sleek Downtown Ultralounge |
79 Poplar Street Atlanta, GA 30303 United States +1 678 904 0050 http://www.themarkatlanta.com/ |
The Mark bills itself as a "chic hotel bar, without the hotel," and aspires to the same status as designer lounges in New York and Los Angeles. According to both locals and visitors, it succeeds very well. There is no line in the place that isn't sinuous, no lighting that isn't intimate, and no body that isn't fashionably dressed. Yet with 5,000 square feet of space, The Mark can handle crowds and live music events. If you want the trendiest spot for young hipsters and professionals in downtown, and your wallet can handle the prices, then The Mark should be your destination. Review © 2009, Wcities |
