Atlanta, GA 30328
United States
+1 404 255 7571

When you see the giant tropical deck fringed with palm trees, you're in the right place. Opened in 1986 as a neighborhood restaurant, this fun tavern has expanded over the years into a 3,500-square-foot beach party, as well as one of Atlanta's most visited nightspots. Lunch and dinner options include chicken wings and burgers, and the place is known for its key lime pie. Billiards, video games and many televisions are provided, as is live entertainment on most weekend night.

This dance joint has been a popular fixture on the local club scene since 1989. Groove six nights a week to music that ranges from rock to tango to acoustic folk sounds. Get into the swing
3539 Chamblee Tucker Road
(Embry Hills Shopping Center)
Atlanta, GA 30341
United States
+1 770 451 5461
As Atlanta's only smoke and alcohol-free dance club, this fun place stays pretty busy with folks who are sick of the traditional bar scene. Patrons here are serious about their dancing, and many sign up for classes held right at the club. Sessions in Latin, swing, ballroom and tango, among other styles, are open to the public and often book solid. Classes and workshops generally run for four to six weeks and are casually conducted with the focus on fun.

Since 1970, visitors have packed this exotic dinner club to eat fondue, listen to jazz and have the opportunity to view live alligators. The club is divided into 13 staggered levels, designed to resemble an old sailing vessel. Fondues are served in many varieties, including mixed meat and cheese trays, vegetable platters and, of course, chocolate. The restaurant's 300 wines range from $16 to more than $800.

Django Lounge & Restaurant

Gypsy Spirit & Energy
495 Peachtree Street
Atlanta, GA 30308
United States
+1 404 347 8648
http://www.djangoatlanta.com/
Django is a combination bar and restaurant near downtown Atlanta, serving up eclectic appetizers and entrees in the early evening before transforming into a dance club by night. The menu is heavy on meat and fish, offering French specialties like mussels and, from further afield, Free-Range Chicken Curry. The music progresses through the night; while you may be listening to Latin jazz as you dine, later there will be jungle, drum n' bass, and old school hits bumping on the dance-floor. A perennial favorite of those who love to dance.

United States
+1 404 522 7841
http://www.eastsidelounge.net/
When the hipsters come out to play in East Atlanta, this is where they meet up. Much clubbier than the quiet taverns typical of this neighborhood, the Eastside Lounge has carved out its own niche and attracted a following from all over Atlanta. A long bar flanks the left side of the dimly-lit lower room, while upstairs, patrons sit in the loft lounge and watch art house flicks projected on the wall. A limited menu is available during the dinner hour, but most don't show up here to eat. DJs live Monday through Saturday.

(Gateway Village Shopping Center)
Atlanta, GA 30092

Craving a dining adventure? At Mina's Place, you'll not only eat well, but learn a little about African cuisine in the process. The staff here allows guests to sample several small items in order to find your favorite. Whether it's chubby fufu (a giant ball of yam paste ladled with gravy) or fried plantain and brown rice, it's hard to go wrong when you try everything first. The traditionally spicy West African menu has been toned down a bit to accommodate western palates. After 10pm, the joint transforms into a lively, casual nightclub.

Star Community Bar

Stars Come Out Nightly
437 Moreland Ave
(Euclid Avenue)
Atlanta, GA 30307
United States
+1 404 681 9018
http://www.starbar.net/
The small door on Moreland Avenue may not give it away, but this swinging joint is a prime hotspot on the local music scene. Featuring live bands every night, the Star is a longtime favorite for catching rising acts and great neighborhood groups. Wild and a little wacky, the dimly lit ambiance leans a bit toward the psychedelic. When the music is not blaring, the place tones down a bit, but remains one of the most interesting melting-pot watering holes in the city.

Taverna Plaka

Once there was a Tavern...
2196 Cheshire Bridge Road North East
Atlanta, GA 30324
United States
+1 404 636 2284
http://www.tavernaplakaatlanta...
With Mediterranean and Middle Eastern music in the background, this Greek restaurant makes you shake your belly. Like all parties this one also starts after sunset; by 7p the belly dancers come out; by 10p the party really picks up with the place converting into a nightclub. The drink and wine list is equally exhausting; it's long enough to entice Dionysus back to earth. So if you're looking for a quiet dinner come earlier, but if the idea is to rock, then this restaurant will welcome you with its open Greek heart.

The Mark

Sleek Downtown Ultralounge
79 Poplar Street
Atlanta, GA 30303
United States
+1 678 904 0050
http://www.themarkatlanta.com/
The Mark bills itself as a "chic hotel bar, without the hotel," and aspires to the same status as designer lounges in New York and Los Angeles. According to both locals and visitors, it succeeds very well. There is no line in the place that isn't sinuous, no lighting that isn't intimate, and no body that isn't fashionably dressed. Yet with 5,000 square feet of space, The Mark can handle crowds and live music events. If you want the trendiest spot for young hipsters and professionals in downtown, and your wallet can handle the prices, then The Mark should be your destination.

Vervelicious
511 Peachtree Street Northeast
Atlanta, GA 30308
United States
+1 404 888 8880
http://www.verveatlanta.com/
This lounge cannot boast about its location, but it is nevertheless a good place to relax and re-energize yourself. A Moroccan-influenced ambiance with loads of colors and cut glass greets you within. On the first level you can grab a bite at the common seating area, and watch the salsa performers do their thing. The upper level is more chilled out—you can grab a drink and head to the patio on the roof, which offers a pleasant view. Dining options range from sushi and pizzas to slightly more elaborate dishes, all prepared under the watchful eye of Chef Darryl Evans.

Largest in the States
2075 Market Street
Atlanta, GA 30096-4714
United States
+1 678 473 1000
http://www.wildbillsatlanta.com/
Show off your moves at this country-themed venue, claimed to be the largest of its kind in America. This suburban hotspot is where those over 18 years of age stomp on a 5,000 square foot dance floor, while cool DJs spin their disks into the wee hours. Casual cowboy duds like loafers, boots and 10-gallon hats are to be donned as you mosey over to one of the four bars for a mean sip from a dirty glass. After you've chomped on a couple of burgers and wings, a game of pool or a shot at the gaming screens would be in order—if you don't hook up with a pretty lass that is! Check the website to get acquainted with the schedule with its load of events, most of which are by famous local country bands.
