Coco Loco

Go Cubano!
2625 Piedmont Road
(Suite #G40)
Atlanta, GA 30324
United States
+1 404 364 0212

Located in a busy shopping center near Home Depot, Coco Loco is easily overlooked. Careful seekers are in for a pleasant surprise, though, as Coco Loco delivers some of the finest Cuban and Caribbean food in town. The cafe-style restaurant bustles with activity from a talkative wait staff and loud kitchen. The frenetic pace and lively decor fit well with the spicy specialties of the menu. Cuban pork, roasted to perfection, is a great standby, while other Cuban and Caribbean favorites such as the jerk chicken and beef get even spicier.

Justin's Restaurant and Bar

High profile celebrity hangout
2200 Peachtree Road Northwest
Atlanta, GA 30309
United States
+1 404 603 5353
This exotic restaurant is known for its upscale Southern and Caribbean cuisine, almost as much as for the celebrity clientèle that frequently drops in. Regulars include a bevy of local politicians and part-time Atlanta resident Elton John. Smooth blues plays in the background of the island-themed dining room, and the impeccable service extends to the expansive patio, as well. Try the grilled barbecue salmon, a Justin's specialty, and complement your meal with a selection from the extensive wine and cognac list. Proper attire is required.

Las Palmeras

Cuban Family Dining
368 Fifth Street
Atlanta, GA 30308
United States
+1 404 872 0846
An in-town Atlanta favorite, the family-run Las Palmeras serves up some of the best local authentic Cuban. Tucked into an inconspicuous storefront on Fifth Street, the restaurant's less-than-glamorous decor does not detract from the exotic plates presented daily. Cuban favorites line the menu, such as fried plantains, Cuban sandwiches and great black beans, as well as the locally-popular Cuban milkshake. Bring your own alcohol if you want it because Las Palmeras does not have a liquor license. There is a liquor store conveniently located next door, though.

Sangria's Mexican Cafe

Plentiful Puerto Rican platters
4369 Hugh Howell Road
Atlanta, GA 30084
United States
+1 770 270 1777
http://www.sangrias.com
This neighborhood cantina boasts a decidedly Puerto Rican influence that sets it apart from most traditional Mexican restaurants. The dining room is simply appointed and family friendly, with big tables and an interesting assortment of Latin decor. Traditional Puerto Rican meals are served each Tuesday, and daily family-style options include build-your-own taco platters that feed 5-8 people for $25-30. All meals are served with refried beans and plantain chips. Save room for the side items, though, which include the famous Guacamole Salad and a decadent Cheesecake Flan.
