Elvis Presley was far from alone in his lust for Krispy Kreme. Since 1937, this donut-maker has peddled its deep-fried delights all over the Southeast. The white walls and old-time counter-style interior are frequent landmarks throughout Atlanta, but this Midtown location is one of the oldest. The traditional Krispy Kreme is a deep-fried puffy affair, simple white batter glazed heavily with sugar. Look for the red light atop the sign when driving by, which means a fresh, hot batch is ready. See website for donut menu, online gift shop, and locations throughout North America.
