Healthy Refreshment by the Bottle |
1117 Euclid Avenue Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 827 0424 http://www.ardensgarden.com |
Hardly bigger than a walk-in closet, this little juice bar is nicely placed amid the eclectic shops of Little Five Points. Fresh juices, fruit smoothies and various healthful elixirs are the order of the day. The wheat germ smoothie is an interesting experience for fanatics. Peruse the message board while you enjoy your healthy smoothie, and learn about the Garden's frequent classes and lectures on healthy living. Limited seating is available, but most patrons take their health drinks to go. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A Little Bit of Europe |
Franz-Jacob-Strasse 2 Atlanta, GA 10369 United States +1 404 523 9121 http://www.babettescafe.com/ |
This romantic spot is fashioned in the likeness of a rustic country cottage, and blends right in with the quiet neighborhood it inhabits. The menu includes eclectic European entrees. A predominantly French wine list is highlighted by some rare and unusually expensive offerings, and formal attire is recommended. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Indian Old-Style |
1138 Euclid Avenue Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 681 1838 |
All the tastes of old India are yours for the asking at this unpretentious little eatery. A diverse menu covers the full spectrum of favorites, and is noted for the unusually large lunch portions. Simple and efficient, the dining room is reminiscent of an old-time American diner in its stark simplicity. Although not exclusively vegetarian, a majority of the entrees are either meat-free or can be prepared that way. All dinners and lunches are served with pulao rice and a cup of hot mulligatawny soup. Funky Burrito Flavor |
1091 Euclid Avenue Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 588 0250 |
In the heart of Little Five Points, El Myr Burrito Lounge combines the funkiest of local, eclectic style with darn good burritos. Little more than a hole in the wall, the dim bar on the right doubles as a late-night hangout, and the dining room is cramped but friendly. As you might guess, burritos rule the menu, and they can be arranged and manipulated any way you can imagine. Sample interesting fillings like barbecue chicken, several varieties of beans, or the vegetarian choices. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Bikers and Families United |
1136 Euclid Avenue Atlanta, GA 30307-1939 United States +1 404 688 2582 |
Find this place by following the row of Harley-Davidsons along the curb. Popular with both bikers and locals, perhaps the hand-drawn sign in the window best expresses this establishment's laid-back attitude: "Help wanted. No wimps. No bozos. Inquire within." The bar area is a deliberate dive, decorated with biker paraphernalia, road signs and a stuffed fish. The restaurant is tavern-like, with large tables frequented by families. Barbecue features large on the menu and is reinforced by an admirable listing of sandwiches, burgers, and daily blue plate specials. Review © 2007, Wcities |

2813 Peachtree Rd. NE Atlanta, GA 30305 United States +1 404 816 8311 |
Although Cuban by name, the dishes at this Latin-fusion spot borrow heavily from the kitchens of Mexico and other Central and South American nations. Ceiling fans and lush foliage whisk you away for your tropical dining experience. Chicken, beef and pork with rice and beans, as well as a few fish and vegetarian items, and fantastic traditional soups are offered. Wine and beer is available, including the full line-up of Mexican brews. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Coffee or Wine? |
579 N Highland Ave Poncy-Highland Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 577 8673 / +1 404 588 9171 (Orders) http://www.javavino.com/ |
Walk into JavaVino before or after a meal to set the mood with a drink. It offers an extensive list of coffee and wine (yes, you read right!) to choose from. Whether it is a business meetup or just a casual chat with friends, the tranquil atmosphere seems to offer much-needed privacy. They have an interesting breakfast, lunch and dinner menu too, and tea is also served. While here, do take a walk down to the basement to check out the huge and interesting wine cellar. The venue can be booked to host private events as well. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Come-On-In Pub |
1174 Euclid Avenue Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 521 0667 http://www.myspace.com/little5... |
The Little Five Corner Tavern ends up being stylish just because of its location, one of the busiest spots in the neighborhood. The pub fare makes it easy to down several brews or cocktails during your stay, and there's both indoor and outdoor seating. As the night ripens, the bar packs in groups of people looking for a good time. With friendly service and a hip, interesting crowd, this tavern is worth going to. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Trendy Street Corner Slices |
422 Seminole Avenue Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 525 2530 |
This no-nonsense pizza shack is a favorite among area residents, always crowded without much of a wait and a great spot for satisfying your late-night cravings. The shop is tiny, with a few booths along the wall, but you'll want to take your pie outside to watch the local artists and punk-rockers go about their daily business as you dine. Pizza, calzones and salads are big winners here. The white pizza is very good and the vegetarian special is second-to-none. Several beers are available on tap or by the bottle. City Hall's Watering Hole |
602 North Highland Ave Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 525 3447 http://www.manuelstavern.com |
Located a few blocks from the old City Hall, this traditional corner bar was known as the hub of Atlanta's political scuttlebutt for more than 50 years but is now a homier, neighborhood-type place. The row of cozy booths opposite the room-length bar is great spot to catch a pint and a Braves game. Several dining rooms set off from the bar make the place much more family friendly than in years past, and the kitchen serves up a surprisingly diverse grille menu. Try the grilled tuna steak with a side of slow-basted black beans. On many a saturday night, Manuel's patrons are treated to the comic stylings of Atlanta's oldest comedy troupe, Laughing Matters Improvisation. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Slices at easy prices |
484 Moreland Avenue Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 523 0500 http://www.savagepizza.com |
Just what you'd expect in a University town, pizza with style. The servers boast tattoos and various piercings, which suits this colorful, artistic pizzeria in the heart of Little Five Points. The oil painting of James Dean is an interesting addition to the brightly-painted dining area, and the loud rock music completes an ambiance you won't find at any Pizza Hut. Pies cost about $10. Veggie lovers should try the white on white, a monstrous feast of multiple cheeses. Beer and wine served, inside and on the small patio. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Inman Park's bistro |
1029 Edgewood Avenue, Northeast Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 577 4358 http://www.shaunsrestaurant.com/ |
A 3,000 square-foot space, Shaun's is a favorite neighborhood hangout. The interiors are utilitarian, and the brick walls and wooden paneling covered in pendant lighting add to the charm and comfort. A mélange of classic and contemporary is what you'll find in this French bistro; this is evident not only in the decor but also in the cuisine. The menu offers special seasonal fare, so that your meal is made of the freshest of ingredients. Try the chicken liver fettuccine with marsala wine sauce, which is an all time favorite. Don't forget to end with the yummilicious desserts. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Legendary Southern Fare |
100 Hurt Street NE Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 581 0530 |
Son's is a tiny, southern-styled eatery, crammed with mismatched tables and chairs. Right behind the steam table, the cooks fry chicken in black cast iron skillets. Son's is famous for crispy pork chops, ribs, and fried fish, too. Rice and gravy, sweet potato pone, cabbage, greens, and pinto beans are popular sides. Homemade rolls or fried cornbread accompany meals. Enjoy sweet tea and Son's unrivaled peach and sweet potato cobblers, along with other homemade desserts. Expect to rub elbows with local government, entertainment, and sports notables who frequently join the line here for Son's traditional southern breakfast and lunch. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Best Local Soccer Bar |
401 Moreland Avenue Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 525 7799 http://www.brewhousecafe.com/ |
The Brewhouse Cafe distinguishes itself from other local sports bars with its specialty: soccer and rugby. The grub is good, and there's a wide selection of imported beers on tap and in the bottle, but it's the international sports broadcasting that makes the Brewhouse special to many of its patrons. The pub also allows dogs both inside and out on the patio, and if you're not riveted to the live sports action, it's a good place to people-watch. Review © 2007, Wcities |

No Admission Music |
1123 Euclid Avenue Northeast Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 223 1100 |
The Five Spot functions as both an eatery and a night spot for live performances. On the menu are healthy sandwiches, like the Smoke Screen with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper-jack and mustard on sourdough. The Five Spot isn't limited to just music, as there's spoken word performances and artist's works up on the walls. There's usually no admission, so you can go watch a band for free if you like. Breakfast Bonanza |
1655 McClendon Avenue (near Clifton Road) Atlanta, GA 30307 United States +1 404 687 8888 http://www.flyingbiscuit.com |
Tucked away from the traffic of Little Five Points, this homey spot is easily missed, but not by locals. Crowds line the sidewalk on weekend mornings for omelets, pancakes and, of course, the signature biscuits. Dinners are less famous, but feature Southern goodies such as Dixie meatloaf and many vegetarian offerings. The cozy storefront is arranged into two rambling rooms with mismatched chairs and peculiar wall murals, but you'll feel right at home, especially when the biscuits arrive. If you want a glass of wine with your meal, bring it along. Review © 2007, Wcities |
