Athens Pizza House

Greek Specialties & Pizza
1341 Clairmont Road
Atlanta, GA 30033
United States
+1 404 636 1100
http://www.athenspizzaatlanta....
Located near Emory University, this is a longtime favorite of the hungry college crowd. Unassuming and friendly, this family-run restaurant is home to great pizza and even better Greek specialties. Diner booths and plastic tables are the stage for some great pizza, but the Greek entrees steal the show. The gyros are huge and filled with hearty portions of juicy rotisserie lamb. Moussaka and other Greek favorites are available as well. The pizza is stacked high with toppings, and the ultra-sweet baklava adds a perfect ending to any meal. .

Baraonda Caffe Italiano

Neighborhood Pizzeria's Fresh Takes
710 Peachtree Street
Atlanta, GA 30308
United States
+1 404 879 9962
http://www.baraondaatlanta.com
This pizzeria and restaurant combines chic décor with old world charm and creative takes on Italian dishes. Pizzas, made in a wood-fired brick oven, feature thin crusts that hold an extensive list of possibilities. Red or pink tomato sauces, mozzarella, goat cheese, brie, sun dried tomatoes, and arugula, paired with prosciutto, chicken, sausage, or mushrooms make it hard to choose from over 20 artful combinations. Baraonda's ravioli of the day and pastas in delicate cream or red sauces will delight anyone who wants a full meal. Impeccably seasoned chicken, veal, fish, and lamb chops make great dinner choices, too.

Blue Moon Pizza

The hip and happening pizza joint
2359, Windy Hill Road Southeast
Atlanta, GA 30067
United States
+1 770 436 4446
http://www.bluemoonpizzaatl.com
This eatery serves some of the most innovative and fresh pizzas in town. Blue Moon Pizza oozes vibrancy and makes a blatant claim of wanting to remain an illogical pizza joint. Go for the hand-tossed variety or the thin crust ones, they are all good, complete with large portions of fresh and generous toppings. The Greek pizza is quite a crowd-puller here and so are the house made desserts. The blue walls and serene blue lights infuse an enchanting glow. All of this with an open patio, live music, an upbeat bar(with a good stock of martinis) and televised sports. Pizza joints just got better!

Lenox Square

Atlanta, GA 30326-1162
United States
+1 404 262 9221
http://www.cpk.com
This restaurant is a great place to fuel up for a day at the sale racks, especially when you're looking for something more than a quick burger and fries. The restaurant occupies its own atrium balcony, where guests dine in bright sunshine let in from skylights high above; choose a booth along the right for optimal views of the shoppers below. Pastas, salads and other light fare complete the menu, but the headliners are the unusual pizzas. An Oriental chicken salad with fried noodles and Asian spice is also a popular choice.

Carmine's Restaurant and Pizzeria

New York Pizza Down South
11875 Jones Bridge Road
Atlanta, GA 30005
United States
+1 678 624 0009
This traditional pizzeria is imbued with a New York theme, from the stylish booths and checkered tablecloths in the dining room to the overwhelming New York Yankees decor. Braves fans might not feel at home, but most guests rave about the lasagna, ravioli and hero sandwiches that make up the menu. Televisions and a nicely appointed bar round out the neighborhood feel, and the best seller is, of course, the pizza.

This old neighborhood place offers some of Atlanta's best pizza amid the busy shops and friendly taverns of the Highlands. A few tables oppose the bar in front, and booths line the wall that leads to the porch in the back. Great pizzas, big salads, pastas and unique sandwiches are all available. The bar features 14 beers on tap and stays busy throughout the day. See website for menu, delivery, and Emory Village location.

Atlanta, GA 30307
United States
+1 404 377 7766
http://www.everybodyspizza.com...
Right across from the beautiful Emory campus on Atlanta's east side, Everybody's serves up great food and cold brews to students, teachers, and townies alike. This is a college hangout, which means that occasionally there's more beer being served than pizza. Three levels divide the eating crowd, so some division of noise and atmosphere is attainable, even during the more raucous hours. Specialty pizzas are the best-sellers, with everything from chicken to artichokes available for your self-designed pie. The hot sandwiches and made-to-order salads are well prepared, affordable, and large. See website for delivery details, menu, and Virginia Highland location.

Fellini's Pizza

A surreal Atlanta tradition
909 Ponce de Leon Ave
Atlanta, GA 30306
United States
+1 404 873 3088
This stark pastel building on Ponce stands out from its more timid neighbors, right on the border between Midtown and the Virginia-Highlands. Stucco and tile has replaced the traditional red-and-white tablecloths, to stunning effect. Ceiling fans spin over the brightly colored tiled dining room tables, while the patio is fitted with ornate, wrought iron chairs. The Vegetarian and meatball-laden specials are popular pizzas, while the calzones are a great choice for lunch. The White Pizza, with mozzarella and ricotta, is famous throughout Atlanta. Beer and wine is available.

Grant Central Pizza

Big Bites & Fun Times
1279 Glenwood Avenue
Atlanta, GA 30316

The neon sign on the corner announces Grant Central with all the subtlety of an old time theater marquee. Inside, you'll find East Atlanta's most complete pizzeria crowded most hours of the day. The enormous single room is open to the kitchen, with booths and tables against rustic exposed brick walls displaying eclectic art. Pizzas like the Cardiac Arrest (featuring pepperoni, spicy sausage, meatballs, ham, and extra cheese) made Grant Central famous, but the menu has expanded over the years. Subs, salads, and a few vegetarian items round out your selections.

The best pizza comes from New York, even in the deep South. Transplants and visitors alike will thrill to the authentic taste of Johnny's New York-style pizza in near suburban Marietta. A loud, frantic ambiance provides further authenticity to the plastic tablecloths and the curt wait staff. New Yorkers might get a little homesick, but the pizza will make up for that. This no-nonsense pizza shack is a favorite among area residents, always crowded without much of a wait and a great spot for satisfying your late-night cravings. The shop is tiny, with a few booths along the wall, but you'll want to take your pie outside to watch the local artists and punk-rockers go about their daily business as you dine. Pizza, calzones and salads are big winners here. The white pizza is very good and the vegetarian special is second-to-none. Several beers are available on tap or by the bottle.

Atlanta, GA 30144

Lots of places promise home-style Italian, but if you want to feel like one of the family, My Cousin Vinny's is your best bet. While the dining room is great for families, adults will enjoy live music on the covered patio Fridays and Saturdays from 8pm to 2am. You must be 21 to enter the patio during these hours, as the mood can get a little rowdy. Pizza, cal zones, and some of the best spaghetti in town are consistent favorites, but if you want Vinny's best, opt for the lasagna.

Still the most famous and one of the most popular of American pizzerias, this longtime favorite has several Atlanta locations. While their pies have kept up with the times, Pizza Hut has maintained its standard family pizzeria look. Large and small tables are available in the dining room, and most locations still feature a juke box for fun family outings. New favorites like the Meat Lover's and Cheese Lover's are still a bit more expensive than the competition, but the eat-in atmosphere makes up for that. Beer only.

When your order is up, you'll hear a different accent coming from the kitchen. This authentic New York pizzeria stays close to its roots, right down to the wait staff. The décor is rather institutional, with a cafeteria-style lineup on the left and a few booths to the right, but for takeout or a bite on the go, it's tough to beat this place. Pies are made the New York way, and well enough so to be known by many New York transplants as the place to get their hometown pizza fix.

There are times when nothing will do but pizza for lunch or dinner. But the craving's often more specific, and if New York style is what you're after, Salerno is the place. Eat in the dining room, sit on the patio or make a to-go order. The dining room is not exactly stylish, but the setting is active and comfortable enough for a pizza crowd. Salerno pies are big, thin and made with the freshest ingredients. A pizza for three or four should run about $10.

Just what you'd expect in a University town, pizza with style. The servers boast tattoos and various piercings, which suits this colorful, artistic pizzeria in the heart of Little Five Points. The oil painting of James Dean is an interesting addition to the brightly-painted dining area, and the loud rock music completes an ambiance you won't find at any Pizza Hut. Pies cost about $10. Veggie lovers should try the white on white, a monstrous feast of multiple cheeses. Beer and wine served, inside and on the small patio.

This comfortable suburban spot offers northsiders a great place to partake in some great American specialties amidst a casual atmosphere. "Upscale tavern chic" is the best way to describe the friendly interior. Families will feel as much at home as the regular business crowd that frequents the restaurant from Alpharetta's corporate offices. Full dinners such as steaks, fish and wonderful pastas headline the menu, but there's also plenty of lighter fare from which to choose. Burgers, wood fired pizza, sandwiches, salads and a nice selection of appetizers are all reasonably priced.
