Emory's kosher green eatery |
2168 Briarcliff Road Atlanta, GA 30329 United States +1 404 329 0888 |
This casual spot features one of the best vegetarian and kosher menus in the city. Recipes consist of the freshest, often organic, leafy ingredients, and include the famous Earth Day quesadilla (with rice, mozzarella and feta) and the Thai peanut noodle sauté (peanut sauce over angel hair pasta with sprouts and onions). A good number of creative and healthy pizzas is also offered, and a nice selection of light wines and ales. The popular Fortant de France Chardonnay costs $3.75 per glass or $17 per bottle. California-Style Greens and Goodies |

Cafe Sunflower is consistently voted the top vegetarian restaurant in Atlanta. The quiet, brightly-lit dining room is set back from the road a bit, adding to the serene atmosphere. The cooks here use only the very freshest ingredients in interesting combinations to turn out California food with strong Oriental, Mediterranean and Southwestern influences. Try the Tofu Stir-Fry or the Sunflower Sampler, and for dessert enjoy a piece of Chocolate Peanut butter Tofu Pie. Sunflower serves handpicked organic wines and imported beer along with your favorite domestic selections. See website for menus and information on the Sandy Springs location. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Chinese Vegetarian |
4897 Buford Highway (Suite 109) Atlanta, GA 30341 United States +1 770 457 7288 |
Hidden away in a shopping mall, this diamond in the rough serves traditional Chinese food prepared without meat or dairy products. The decor is not eye catching or unique, but veggie-loving locals don't seem to mind. All the Chinese standbys are on the menu, but no meat or eggs are used in preparation (except in the fortune cookies). Beef dishes such as Mongolian beef are prepared with soy products without giving up much in taste. This restaurant is great for both the avid vegetarian and skeptical meat-eater who needs some convincing. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The Healthy Place to Go |
2118 North Decatur Road Atlanta, GA 30033-5367 United States +1 404 633 3538 http://www.rainbowgrocery.com/ |
A longtime favorite of the health-conscious, Rainbow Natural Foods is the place to go for organic groceries or a quick meal. The restaurant is a slightly crowded area that only seats about 20 people. The speed and reliability of the food and service make up for the lack of space, though. All food served is vegetarian. There are great smoothies and other breakfast items, along with Sunburgers that are surprisingly good. Be sure to load up on your week's supply of vegetarian groceries and healthful supplements on the way out. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Healthy & Hip |

Before catching the latest art-house flick at LeFont Plaza, head on over to the Righteous Room for a healthy meal in a stylish atmosphere. The retro theme of the dark, narrow room is highlighted by small, cozy booths and a jukebox spinning tunes. Normal bar fare such as hamburgers and chips and salsa is featured, but the healthier items such as hummus and other vegetarian specialties are even tastier. The bar boasts a wide selection of beer and other drinks for later in the evening. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Affordable African near campus |
879 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard Atlanta, GA 30310 United States +1 404 752 5194 |
This is a small, mostly student hangout offering healthy, African vegetarian food with a strong Ethiopian influence. The stated specialty is delicious, cholesterol-free cooking, and they do a pretty good job of it, and a pretty good business. It's no wonder this place is so popular with local students, as all meals are priced at about $5-6. The interesting menu at this low-key joint isn't for everyone, however, unless you have a taste for soy ice cream with your collard greens. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Healthy Buffet |
3505 Mall Boulevard Atlanta, GA 30096 United States +1 770 418 1148 http://sweettomatoes.com/ |
This healthy regional chain is a great alternative to traditional fast food dining. Booths and tables line the walls around the buffets, and the health-minded theme pervades the dining area with decorative tomatoes and greenery painted on the walls. The salad bar is monstrous and full of fresh vegetables, and the well-stocked potato and pasta bars are also worth stopping by. The soup and dessert buffets are consistent crowd-pleasers, and deservedly so. After all, eating all that healthy food certainly earns you the right to indulge in some frozen yogurt. For Lovers of the Green |
211 Pharr Road Atlanta, GA 30305 United States +1 404 231 3111 |
The healthy food here is so good that the restaurant has become almost as popular with non-vegetarians as it is with its regulars. The cozy dining room is attended by a friendly and informative wait staff, although many patrons take their lunch specialties to go. Salads are the main draw, but the menu also includes stir fries, burritos and a number of healthy sandwiches. Many items are sugar- and dairy-free, and most are low-salt and low-cholesterol. No alcohol is served. Review © 2007, Wcities |
