The Mark bills itself as a "chic hotel bar, without the hotel," and aspires to the same status as designer lounges in New York and Los Angeles. According to both locals and visitors, it succeeds very well. There is no line in the place that isn't sinuous, no lighting that isn't intimate, and no body that isn't fashionably dressed. Yet with 5,000 square feet of space, The Mark can handle crowds and live music events.
