Totally Asian food experience |
9 Albert Street Auckland 1001 New Zealand +64 (0)9 373 4917 |
As the best food court in the city for cheap and authentic Asian food, Food Alley boasts 15 kitchens sharing a common dining area. It is a bit like eating in a converted car park--but you do not come here for the scenery. Food from all over Asia is on offer. Zap is recommended, with its beautifully presented food from Northeast Thailand; try the larb chicken and rice. Claypot Roast, offering roast duck and pork Chinese style, with rice and soup is also excellent. A fully licensed bar also makes delicious fresh juices. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Genuine Thai cuisine |
1 Saint Mary's Bay Road Ponsonby Auckland 1001 New Zealand +64 (0)9 378 1776 |
Formerly Kwan's Thai Restaurant, KaiMana is fully licensed and offers authentic Thai cuisine, served by charming Thai people. The decor is simple and effective. A green theme prevails, and the chairs are comfortably padded. The lunch menu includes a mixed entree plus a choice of main course. The food has a predominantly Northern Thai flavor, specific to the region of Isaan, from where Chef Mana hails. Main courses include Roast duck red curry with grapes, tomato & coconut. They serve excellent Tom Yum soup for those who like it hot! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Mai Thai Restaurant offers delicious, traditional Thai food in a beautiful setting. The fare is consistently good and includes the usual curry, noodle and rice dishes common to Thai cuisine. There is a good beverage list on offer and cocktails are a house specialty, but bring your own wine is also an option. Review © 2007, Wcities |
