They have displayed for sale beautiful old bottles and crocks, jewellery and silver pieces, a large range of pictures and prints and a section they have termed "Kitchenalia". This includes just about everything one would find in your average Victorian kitchen. They also stock some larger pieces of Kauri and Oak furniture and are always keen to source especially for their customers. Review © 2007, Wcities |

89 Great South Road Remuera Auckland New Zealand +64 (0)9 520 0353 |
This store caters to people interested in collectable odds and ends, rather than 'fine antiques'. They have mainly twentieth century items—be it typewriters, camera equipment, posters, a plane propeller, a selection of books, an old spotlight, even a huge lightbulb or an equally large 'piano screwdriver'. There are a lot of naval and wartime antiquities. It is the type of shop to spend a bit of time in, just reminiscing and is located approximately 10 minutes from downtown Auckland. Fine Italian antiques and reproductions |
93 Great South Road Remuera Auckland New Zealand +64 (0)9 520 4090 |
This air-conditioned fine antique store has mainly eighteenth and nineteenth century pieces. There is a lot of gilded Italian furniture, mirrors, and other interior furnishings. The selection of ornaments, candelabras, reproduction chairs and other items is impressive. Some Chinese chests are on display also. There isn't much you could class as inexpensive, but it is all quality merchandise, and prices are as you would expect. Located approximately 10 minutes from downtown Auckland. With the economical option of entering many of New Zealand restaurants armed with a bottle of wine, finding good wine shops around cafes is not uncommon. Millar & Co cater to not only the surrounding suburbs, but the busy seaside café business of St Heliers as well. After having recently changed hands, the community has been fortunate to have wound up with a proprietor who takes the utmost pride in a top selection in all price ranges. New Zealand wines are a favorite with wineries represented at very reasonable prices. The staff are well educated and helpful. Uniquely, this wine shop offers an extensive (and expensive) variety of Cuban cigars! Review © 2007, Wcities |

NZ Historic Bohemian Village |
48 km from Auckland Auckland 1241 New Zealand +64 9 426 0076 http://www.puhoi.com/ |
Puhoi is a historic community situated on the beautiful Puhoi River. Equally renowned for the Puhoi Cheese Company and the pub, Puhoi attracts weekend day-trippers from Auckland drawn to the relaxed and interesting atmosphere. Bohemian immigrants were the first to settle here in 1860 when Puhoi was isolated and necessarily a self-sufficient community. Before decent roads were cut over the coastal hills, communication was via coastal steamer. Today the pub, with a collection of artifacts and colorful characters, is the main draw as well as century-old churches and other early buildings. Canoing on the Puhoi River is also a popular outing.
