Good old boys and darts |
8402 S Congress Austin, TX 78745 United States +1 512 282 9133 |
This club, which is named for old Texas Highway 81 (now Congress Avenue), has operated in this building on and off for years. The current manifestation has been around since 1988. It is a hole-in-the-wall hangout where you can watch sports on a big screen TV, play shuffleboard and electric darts, or just listen to the jukebox. The club sells beer (cans only) and wine, as well as set-ups (you bring the hard liquor), and everything is affordable. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Lake Travis' Fun on the Water |
5973, Hiline Road Austin, TX 78734 United States +1 512 266 1683 http://www.cncaustin.com/ |
This sun and fun restaurant is located right on the water for all those Lake Travis visitors looking for good food, drinks, and live music. Parking is widely available on both land and water and their Tex-Mex cuisine and margaritas are widely popular. They are known for their "no shirt, no shoes, no problem" mentality and they are a great stop for those spending the day out on the water. If their live music and laid-back mentality is not enough, patrons can come enjoy the sunset over the water that has brought that extra added flavor to this Austin favorite. -Nicholas Van Zandt Review © 2007, Wcities |

The Real Austin Blues Scene |
1413, Webberville Road Austin, TX 78721 United States +1 512 926 2200 |
T.C.'s Lounge is one of the few remaining landmarks of the Austin music scene that has yet to succumb to the expansive growth of the city. This bar has been a long revered hot-spot for local blues musicians and music lovers. They have brought in famous local bands such as the Leghounds, which has helped to increase their popularity. They are a beer only bar but do offer set-ups to those patrons who wish to bring their own liquor. If looking for a uniquely cultural experience in the Austin blues scene, then T.C.'s Lounge is certainly the place for you. -Nicholas Van Zandt Review © 2007, Wcities |

Simply great food |
11400 Burnet Road Texas Culinary Academy Austin, TX 78758 United States +1 512 339 3850 http://www.tca.edu/restaurant.asp |
This restaurant is more like a classroom, where a bunch of Texas Culinary Academy students take over and prepare incredible French delicacies. You can expect to find the likes of Trout Meuniere, Croque Madame, Pate Maison, Baked Brie, and Tuna Bearnaise on the menu. Whether the students are overworked or plain tired, it doesn't show, because the service is flawless and these prep chefs do a great job with the ingredients. The wine list is also impressive. There's always something to learn, for both students and visitors. So don't give this place a miss. Review © 2007, Wcities |
