Consider this north Austin mall as an alternative to the colder, more impersonal mega-malls that have become standard in recent years. This shopping center is a bit cozier, with some unusual finds inside. Despite its smaller size, though, shoppers will still be able to browse department stores like Oshman's and Bealls, or catch a movie at the resident theater. Tape Lenders Video is not just a video store, although DVD and VHS products for rental or purchase make up the majority of merchandise on both floors. The company used to be located in the campus Dobie Mall, but has since moved to a small, 1960s-architecture-style center in beautiful Clarksville. Upstairs you'll find greeting cards and t-shirts with popular slogans and characters from trendy pop-culture, along with all types of candles, incense and oils.
