Alborz Persian Cuisine

Dessert food
3300 West Anderson Lane, Suite 303
Austin, TX 78757
United States
+1 512 420 2222
http://www.alborzpersiancuisin...
For truly exotic food that you won't find at every street corner in Texas, try the subtle cuisine of Persia. In true Middle Eastern style, the reception is warm and welcoming and the menu consists of food evocative of the Arabian Nights - sensuous and bold. The menu highlights are the Kashk-o-Bademjan; a rich, smoky, baked-eggplant starter topped with dry yogurt, mint, walnuts and garlic, and Chelo Kabob-e-Koobideh (ground beef kabob) with char-grilled tomatoes with herbs and onions. The dessert menu has delightful items such as Persian ice cream with rosewater, pistachios and saffron.

Everything about this restaurant reeks of style and grace, so it's no wonder that it offers the finest of French cuisine. The dining area is done up in shades of white, cream and subtle upholstery. Chef Jacques Richard uses only the finest ingredients and has created an a la carte selection. The menu is seasonal but the beautiful presentation of the food is a mainstay of the restaurant.

Serving what the owners of this restaurant call, 'a new twist to this different kinda Mex', Berryhill Baja grill serves the most superlative Mexican food in town. Sink your teeth into the restaurant's famous Tamales, served the traditional way, steamed in husk. Or try the deep fried Chimichangas, served with fajita beef, chicken, grilled fish or spinach. Or try the Chicken Enchiladas served with black beans and rice - just mouthwatering. If you want to pop in for a light snack, they also serve popular Mexican appetizers such as Shrimp Diablo, chips and salsa as well as Chicken Nachos. After this meal, you'll want to run to every Mexican and ask for their family recipe of your favourite food!

1601 Guadalupe Street
Austin, TX 78701
United States

http://www.claypit.com/Home.as...
Set in an attractive stone building, this Indian restaurant serves mostly North Indian food from the clay pit. The chef Maqbool Ahmed is the real McCoy, having served a stint at the Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi and has brought his panache for the tandoor to Austin. A must eat at this restaurant is the Tandoori platter bedecked with chicken, lamb, broccoli, tomatoes and even zucchini. As always, Indian restaurants are a haven for vegetarians and this is no exception serving Dals, Paneer and a lot of veggie curries.

Viva Mexico!

Austin, TX 78704
United States
+1 512 447 7688
http://www.guerostacobar.com/
All restaurants could do with a famous patron so the owners of this Mexican taco bar proudly say that Bill Clinton ate here. Apart from this bit of information, it is interesting to note that the Migas are topnotch with dollops of cheese, peppers and fresh corn tortillas. The restaurant has a couple of dining rooms, one of which is built around the kitchen, giving it a very homely feel. Check out the Fish taco and the Queso flameado, or the El Presiendto (no guessing for who orders this), Chicken breast taco, a Beef taco, Tamale and Guacamole. Don't forget to chug down the famous margaritas made with fresh lime juice or have a shot of first-class tequila.

There is something comforting about family-run Italian restaurants. It conjures up images of big mama serving delicious food. So, step inside for some comfort food at this café-style restaurant minus big mama. The favorites are the Lasagna and Baked Ziti, as well as the Seafood Linguine with Mussels and Scallops. If you want to immerse yourself in cheese, then order the pizza and Eggplant Parmesan Sub. With great home cooking from Southern Italy at an affordable price, this one's a winner.

Sandy's is one of those all American cafes but this one has been around for nearly twenty years and its neon custard cone has been its trademark. So, if you want a bit of classic Americana, drive through and pick up a meal or sit at one of the picnic tables. The menu consists of mouthwatering junk food, such as Cheese burgers, which can be built on by asking for double meat, double cheese or double bun! Everything is affordable here, within a couple of bucks, the price you pay for greasy but enticing food!

No dessert please!
1600 South Congress Avenue
Austin, TX 78704
United States
+1 512 447 3905

This restaurant has it all: a delectable menu, happy hour and a ritzy location in the upscale shopping area of Austin. The décor is airy and trendy with large windows overlooking the streets and slick booths that are comfortable. The cuisine leans towards South western and the restaurant serves brunch, lunch and dinner. Dishes to look out for are the scandalously succulent Pork Tenderloin, Cajun Seafood Scampi and Blue-Corn Crepe. The portions are humongous so you may want to skip dessert.
