Juicy burgers and gourmet pizza |
415 West Cold Spring Lane Baltimore, MD 21210 United States +1 410 235 3433 http://www.alonsos.com |
This Roland Park mainstay has been a local favorite since 1931. For an appetizer, consider Little Neck Clams, Mussles Marinerre or Bruschetta. Then satisfy your craving for a cheeseburger or a thin-crusted pizza topped with roasted vegetables, chicken or shrimp. Sandwiches and calzones are also on the menu, along with a list of wonderful entrees - Grilled Lamb Sirloin, Roast Breast of Free Range Chicken, and a Crab Cake platter. In addition to great food, this restaurant also has great beer menu - 50 bottled beers and six on draft. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Casual, friendly neighborhood pub |
3107 Saint Paul Street Baltimore, MD 21218-3814 United States +1 410 243 1611 |
If you're in town visiting someone who lives or works in Charles Village, chances are they know this very friendly, very casual neighborhood pub. It's far from fancy (vinyl booths, small tables, paneled walls dotted with sports pictures), but for a large number of Hopkins students, Charles Village bohemians and local business people, it's a homely place to grab a beer and burger. There are about 30 beers available, bottled and on tap, and the sandwiches, salads and other bar-fare items are hearty and modestly priced. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Popular bar with good food |
919 West 36th Street Baltimore, MD 21211 United States +1 410 662 4914 |
Hampden is one of Baltimore's funkier blue-collar neighborhoods, and this busy establishment is its answer to the chic upscale bars of Federal Hill and Canton. By all accounts it holds up very well. During weeknight happy hours, the place is packed with young urban professionals who amble in for the great drink specials and the excellent bar fare, which includes steaks, hamburgers and seafood dishes. The dimly lit dining room is a bit cavernous, but a large collection of stuffed ducks and vintage photographs give it a homey touch. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Very elegant French bistro |
4800 Roland Avenue Baltimore, MD 21210 United States +1 410 366 9393 |
The Northwest Baltimore neighborhood of Roland Park is one of the city's prettiest. Full of beautiful old homes and ancient oaks, it's the perfect setting for this French-style bistro. The fare is simple, with piquant sauces and perfectly prepared meats. From the Mussels Provencale to the Grilled Lamb Brochette, you just can't go wrong. Plus, there are more than 100 excellent, and very affordable, wines available. You'll definitely want to linger: the hardwood floors, dark paneling, brass fixtures and elegant table settings provide a wonderful atmosphere. Review © 2007, Wcities |
