Beautiful and bustling outdoor cafe |
1647 Thames Street Fells Point Baltimore, MD 21231 United States +1 410 522 6731 |
Located at the intersection of Thames Street and Broadway, this lively little bar is at the very heart of Fells Point. It's also home to the biggest outdoor seating area in the neighborhood - a great place to sip a beer and soak up the local color. Inside, there are hardwood floors, redbrick walls and a well-stocked bar. The kitchen serves up decent bar fare, with an emphasis on fresh seafood. (Try the oysters.) On weekends, a DJ entertains, and during the week various local acoustic musicians play. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Eat mussels at Bertha's |
734 South Broadway Fells Point Baltimore, MD 21231 United States +1 410 327 5795 http://berthas.com/ |
In Baltimore, Bertha's means the blues - and mussels to beat the band. Offered with your choice of eight sauces, Bertha's Mussels are plump, tender, and steamed just right. For years this Fells Point landmark has been giving out green bumper stickers that simply state: "Eat Bertha's Mussels." The rest of the seafood entrees are also very good. They, too, boast fresh ingredients and a sure touch. The décor is warm and funky, the atmosphere lively, and, on weekends, even rowdy. Review © 2007, Wcities |

According to Celtic music aficionados, this Fells Point pub is the place to go in Baltimore to hear authentic Irish folk music. With its wood-paneled walls and gigantic oak bar, it's the perfect setting for hoisting a glass of Guinness or Harp and enjoying a jig or reel. The steady stream of Irish musicians is supplemented by local and national jazz, blues and zydeco acts. Fell's Point can be nuts on weekends, so to enjoy the full homey effect of this place, visit during the week. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Home to Baltimore's alternative rock scene, this large Fells Point club brings in well-known, independent-label bands almost every night. The wonderfully garish downstairs boasts a full bar, a kitchen serving decent bar-fare and four pool tables. The upstairs, which is dimly lit, features another bar, a small lounge area and the concert hall. The beer is cheap, the music is loud, and the place is generally packed with the an eclectic assortment of Bohemians and college kids. Review © 2007, Wcities |

For many years, Baltimore has been home to a great Blues scene made up of countless knowledgeable fans and scores of talented musicians. There are benches in front of the stage known as "Blues Pews," and the saloon hosts live music seven nights a week and national acts every Saturday. The kitchen even serves Blues cuisine, such as Gumbo, Pork Barbecue and Meatloaf. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Delightful neighborhood pub |
2031 East Fairmount Avenue Baltimore, MD 21231 United States +1 410 522 4477 |
This cozy pub boasts an antique, copper-topped mahogany bar and candlelit wooden farm tables. The menu is limited (not much longer than the list of beers on draft) but the kitchen offers more than the usual pub grub. Try the Grilled Salmon, daily pasta special or a Chicken Quesadilla, the latter served with sour cream and homemade salsa. If you have room for dessert - the dinner portions are enormous - opt for a slice of pie. Review © 2007, Wcities |
