Style takes precedence at this very classy restaurant, so walk in dressed for a semi-formal dining experience. Let the staff guide you to a table with a beautiful view of the golf course and the pond, and settle in with your choice of wine from the list. Award-winning chefs are busy in the kitchen, preparing some delectable, delightful meals. Order the Tuna Carpaccio or Grilled Tenderloin Salad with Spinach if you are here for lunch. Dinner might be more predictable, with Maryland Crab Cakes, Roasted Rack of Lamb and Pan-seared Salmon among the favorites. The meals come in portions to satisfy the greatest of appetites, and the cuisine matches the standards set by the hotel. This is fine dining indeed!

This cozy Northeast Baltimore restaurant has occupied the same spot for almost 50 years. The downstairs is an Irish pub, well-stocked with Guinness and Harp. Upstairs, patrons will find a modest dining room specializing in Italian dishes. (Try the Seafood Spaghetti.) So what keeps an Italian/Irish establishment running for half a century in Baltimore? The crab cakes, naturally. The perfectly seasoned, lump-filled patty served here are truly a cut above.

Eat mussels at Bertha's

http://berthas.com/
In Baltimore, Bertha's means the blues - and mussels to beat the band. Offered with your choice of eight sauces, Bertha's Mussels are plump, tender, and steamed just right. For years this Fells Point landmark has been giving out green bumper stickers that simply state: "Eat Bertha's Mussels." The rest of the seafood entrees are also very good. They, too, boast fresh ingredients and a sure touch. The décor is warm and funky, the atmosphere lively, and, on weekends, even rowdy.

Great breakfast all weekend
1621 Aliceanna Street

Breakfast is the name of the game at this small but lively Fells Point eatery. They've got all the standards: French toast, pancakes and a wide variety of eggs, but the specialties are what really shine. Take the Crab Benedict, for instance, or the delicious Crab Crepe. During the week, the plain but tastefully decorated room is open during the typical breakfast and brunch hours. But from Friday through Sunday it's open all night long, and jammed with gadabouts topping off a late night with a hearty breakfast.

There is an informal tradition among Baltimore waitresses to address customers as 'Hon.' (Pronounced to rhyme with 'bun.') Over the years, the term has come to symbolize the town's casual hospitality, and as such, it suits this friendly café perfectly. Located in Hampden, it has the ambiance of a suburban kitchen circa 1955, and the menu fits the décor just right. Dishes like Four Cheese Lasagna and 'Much Better Than Mom's' Meatloaf are guaranteed to stick to your ribs, and the Crabcake Platter does Baltimore proud.

A terrific example of architectural whimsy, this Fells Point restaurant looks just like an old ship steaming silently up Boston Street bound for the neighborhood of Canton. Inside, however, the spacious and often raucous, dining area and the half-moon bar reveal it for what it is, an old-school restaurant where very good food is served at very reasonable prices. As one might expect, the seafood specialties, such as a marvelous Flounder Fillet stuffed with crabmeat are what stand out here.

Hampden is one of Baltimore's funkier blue-collar neighborhoods, and this busy establishment is its answer to the chic upscale bars of Federal Hill and Canton. By all accounts it holds up very well. During weeknight happy hours, the place is packed with young urban professionals who amble in for the great drink specials and the excellent bar fare, which includes steaks, hamburgers and seafood dishes. The dimly lit dining room is a bit cavernous, but a large collection of stuffed ducks and vintage photographs give it a homey touch.

You're sure to enjoy almost anything on the menu, particularly the fresh seafood, but be sure to try the crab cakes. They're as big as softballs, filled with lump meat. The Single Crab Cake, with a side of fries, potato salad or coleslaw (under $10) is more than enough.

This small restaurant combines a casual atmosphere with excellent food. Here, the cacti centerpieces, the giant lizard over the bar and other Southwestern touches let you know you're in for a spicy experience. And the food doesn't disappoint. The Smoked Shrimp Quesadilla and the Grilled Tequilla Shrimp are both fantastic. And how can you not fall for a place where the kitchen makes its own tortilla chips. The restaurant also makes a mean coconut flan.

It was also featured in the movie "Sleepless in Seattle," and was a frequent location for the dramatic TV series "Homicide." If its chrome exterior and homey interior looks familiar, that's why. This longtime Baltimore favorite is something of an anomaly; in a city where crab cakes are king, its signature seafood dish is shrimp salad. On closer examination, it's easy to see why. The shrimp are big, perfectly steamed, and dressed in a savory sauce. And the portions are huge. The rest of the hearty American fare (like a great Prime Rib) is also very nice. The restaurant has a casual, homey feel, with comfortable booths, dark paneling and a very friendly staff.

This small, somewhat eccentric café is a local favorite. The décor is certainly part of the café's charm- bright primary colors abound, the thrift store furniture is mismatched; mannequins, dolls and other toys decorate the window sills, walls, and even the ceiling. But it's the food that keeps the locals coming back. It's a terrific blend of traditional home cooking and lighter vegetarian fare. The French toast (served all day) is one of the city's treasures.

For more than 30 years, this downtown restaurant has been Baltimore's benchmark for upscale steakhouses. The signature dish shows why. The Prime Rib Steak is a tender 24-ounce behemoth, a full three inches thick. The rest of the offerings, including several fine seafood dishes, are just as good, if not as weighty. It's hard to believe, but the decor - black walls, gold curtains and leopard-print carpet - is somehow just right. Side dishes are ala Carte, and the wine list is great.

Executive Chef Matthew Geraghty has taken typical Irish grub and mixed it up with contemporary American cuisine. Grab a pint of chilled beer and feast on fare like the Roasted Trout and Irish Bacon or the Tír na nÓg Shepherd's Pie. Or try the savories from the bar menu. Take a date to eat by the fireplace, chat with the friendly bartenders or come in for a relaxed brunch, whatever suits your mood!

The restaurant gets its name from 'tugboat', and the gastronomic creations available here are as varied as the waves. The ambience sinks in as one walks into warm colored interiors with TV screens and a glass partition between the bar and dining area. An aquarium and a fully-stocked, deep-colored wood bar break through the design. You guessed it - seafood is the specialty here, and the fun is in trying out some innovative treats, such as mussels in your beer, Cream of Crab Soup and Filet Mignon. Those who prefer meat can select from the array of steaks on the menu. The only thing that can beat all of this is the recently introduced free wireless internet service, their way of thanking guests!

This little bistro is as chic as the Italian scooter for which it's named. It offers moderately priced, expertly prepared Italian cuisine, served in a truly remarkable dining room. The restaurant's earth-toned and corrugated metal walls, tiled floor and suede benches blend together as harmoniously as the ingredients in the delicious Antipasto, which combines roasted cloves of garlic, giant capers, frittata and prosciutto. The wine list offers plenty of moderately priced choices, but be sure to save room for the Hazelnut Cheesecake.

Located a short stroll from the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, this casual restaurant makes a great post-show destination. Decorated in cool pastel shades and sporting some very comfortable booths, the dining room is as amenable to good conversation as it is to fine dining. The Italian portion of the menu offers a selection of salads and pastas. Fish, meat and fowl, prepared in an Asian or Southwestern manner, complete the menu. The Swordfish with Lump Crabmeat in Lime and Chili Sauce is great.

The name itself tempts prospective patrons to come in and satisfy their curiosity. Here's where one gets all the answers. The city's famed rotisserie chicken restaurant keeps folks busy digging into chunky sandwiches, burritos, salads and of, course - chicken! A variety of desserts provide the sweet aftertaste. All dishes are made from fresh ingredients, including high-quality meats. The restaurant serves signature dishes after 4p daily and delivery is available to nearby locations.

For more than 30 years, this friendly, casual eatery has been supplying midtown Baltimore with down-home cooking. Most customers order take-out, but there's a fairly large dining area with comfortable, spacious booths, a loud jukebox and colorful decorations. The menu is posted on the wall behind the counter, and it reads like barbeque's greatest hits. There's Short Ribs, Pork Spare Ribs, Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Collard Greens, Stewed Cabbage, Candied Sweet Potatoes and Peach Cobbler, among other Southern specialties.
