Savory Jamaican cuisine |
213 Penn Street Baltimore, MD 21230 United States +1 410 752 3896 |
Dining at this restaurant is like going to a party. There's Reggae music playing in the small, colorful dining room and the atmosphere is celebratory. The food served here will give you cause to celebrate. The menu has two sections: "Earth" and "Fire." The former includes dishes like Ox-tail Stew, Jerk Chicken and pan-fried fish served with peas and rice, black beans and steamed greens. From appetizers to dessert, everything here is bold and savory. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fine dining and art |
800 Key Highway, Inner Harbor American Visionary Art Museum Baltimore, MD 21230 United States +1 410 244 6500 http://www.avam.org/joyamerica joyamerica@comcast.net |
Although it's located on the top floor of the American Visionary Art Museum, this is by no means your typical art museum restaurant. The food served in this spacious and sleek, yet entirely comfortable, room is original and refreshing, with a subtly tropical bent. The Roast Chicken, for example, is covered with molé sauce, and the Barbecued Shrimp are laced with papaya. Be sure to reserve a table by the arched windows for a tremendous view of Baltimore's harbor. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This restaurant mixes Old World Cuba with modern, innovative flavors. Outdoor dining is available, umbrella-shaded tables afford views of sailboat masts and the waterfront. Black bean soup and Black Bean Cakes served with guacamole and sour cream are among the several delectable appetizers offered. Salads and pork, catfish and chicken sandwiches are also offered. Entree highlights include: Mahi-Mahi Con Plantanos, plantain-encrusted Mahi topped with a pineapple and black bean relish and Parillada de Verduras, grilled vegetables over rice. There's also an extensive wine list. Review © 2007, Wcities |
