Great breakfast all weekend |
1621 Aliceanna Street Baltimore, MD 21231-2925 United States +1 410 522 3940 |
Breakfast is the name of the game at this small but lively Fells Point eatery. They've got all the standards: French toast, pancakes and a wide variety of eggs, but the specialties are what really shine. Take the Crab Benedict, for instance, or the delicious Crab Crepe. During the week, the plain but tastefully decorated room is open during the typical breakfast and brunch hours. But from Friday through Sunday it's open all night long, and jammed with gadabouts topping off a late night with a hearty breakfast. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Common likes! |
819 West 36th Street Baltimore, MD 21211 United States +1 410 235 5533 |
Common Ground Cafe stands out as one of the best cafes in Baltimore to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, apart from its baked delights, desserts and coffee. The atmosphere, enhanced with glowing candles and close seating, can easily pass off as romantic - a perfect venue for that first date! You can savor your Osso Buco or Shrimp with Asparagus while lilting tunes fill the air. The desserts are a must try - so don't leave without tasting the freshly prepared fruit pies, muffins and the Bread Pudding - a common favorite! All in all, a great place for an intimate tête-à-tête! Upscale gourmet deli |

This tiny deli, located in the lovely northwest Baltimore neighborhood of Mt. Washington is an intimate setting with a handful of tables and a few display cases. The pasta salad, for example, sports pesto, pine nuts, capers and artichoke hearts. All the baked goods and sandwiches are equally fancy. Try Granny's Best Sandwich: slices of apple with melted cheddar and honey-mustard. There's also a full gourmet coffee bar. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Jewel of a bistro |
2908 O'Donnell Street Baltimore, MD 21224 United States +1 410 276 2233 http://www.helensgarden.com/V2/ |
This tiny jewel of a bistro does many things very well. On one hand, it is a great coffee bar. On the other hand, it is a dandy wine bar, with a list that's affordable and eclectic. Then again, it is a vegetarian restaurant, boasting items like the La Luna (eggplant, greens and provolone wrapped in a pesto flatbread!). However, the seafood entrees are the best. Finally, the downstairs is a bustling café, and the upstairs a cozy, candle-lit, folk-art styled hide-away. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Warm and fuzzy coffee bar |
1626 Aliceanna Street Baltimore, MD 21231-2926 United States +1 410 276 6606 |
Ah, la vie bohemme! This scruffy but loveable Fells Point coffee and juice shop has such a wonderfully mellow atmosphere that you can relax completely, even while imbibing a highly-caffeinated gourmet coffee drink. The decor could be described as Neon Victorian, a funky blend of the day-glow and the antique, accented with overgrown houseplants and overflowing bookshelves. If you're not up for coffee, try one of the freshly squeezed juice drinks. There's also a selection of tasty sandwiches, humus and organic salads. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Wonderful Ukrainian treats |
2110 North Charles Street Baltimore, MD 21218 United States +1 410 727 7081 |
Set in a tiny rowhouse in Charles Village, this family-run eatery offers traditional American Deli fare, but specializes in Ukrainian and Balkan dishes. Here you'll find Clam Chowder as well as Borscht, Kosher hotdogs as well as Bitockhi (steak) and Blueberry Pie as well as Cake Kiev (a dried fruit and meringue extravaganza). There's also a very nice, inexpensive wine list, and, of course, a great selection of coffee. The décor brings to mind a turn-of-the-century parlor, and the staff is relaxed and friendly. Very elegant tearoom |
37 South Charles Street Baltimore, MD 21201 United States +1 410 385 0902 |
Gorgeous flower arrangements, pink pastel drapes, delicate table settings, silver tea and coffee services - this Federal Hill establishment has a jewelry box of a dining room. Add to the décor live musicians playing beautiful melodies on violin and piano, and you have an atmosphere guaranteed to lower your heart rate and raise your spirits. The traditional Russian foods like Borscht and Blinis are as perfectly done and lovely as their surroundings, as are the freshly made desserts. There's nothing here that sings "Baltimore," but it sings nonetheless. Review © 2007, Wcities |
