Fantastic pastries and cakes |
3023 Elliott Street Baltimore, MD 21224 United States +1 410 342 4943 |
This small restaurant, in the heart of the historic waterfront neighborhood of Canton, features display cases filled with a beautiful assortment of Danish, donuts, cakes, pies, pastries and other goodies. Most customers order a sweet treat to go, but some choose to sit at the long lunch counter. Here you can relax with the day's newspaper and a hot cup of coffee or a fresh-made salad, soup or sandwich. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Great for breakfast and lunch |
334 North Charles Street Baltimore, MD 21201 United States +1 410 547 0550 http://www.davidanddads.com/ |
This friendly little place is great if you're looking for breakfast on the go. They offer a wide range of fresh-baked muffins; everything from blueberry to chocolate chip; as well as a good variety of breakfast sandwiches. They also do lunch, offering a large menu of deli and specialty sandwiches. Their Reuben is especially good - plenty of dressing and sauerkraut, without being too wet. There are a few tables, but most of the business is take out. Be sure to try a brownie. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This restaurant is housed within the Harbor Court Hotel and caters to the taste buds of hotel guests and the locals. The name reveals the nature of the joint - Expresso stands for the coffee bar and the Etc represents the newsstand attached to it! Taste the culinary delights made by the talented chefs of the hotel. Enjoy the deli and American cuisine inclusive of various sandwiches and salads. Wash it down with coffee, beer, or wine and wind up with a tasty pastry. When dining alone, you can pick up reading material from the adjoining newsstand and spend some fun 'me' time. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Upscale gourmet deli |
6080 Falls Road, Suite 1 Baltimore, MD 21209 United States +1 410 377 9060 |
This tiny deli, located in the lovely northwest Baltimore neighborhood of Mt. Washington is an intimate setting with a handful of tables and a few display cases. The pasta salad, for example, sports pesto, pine nuts, capers and artichoke hearts. All the baked goods and sandwiches are equally fancy. Try Granny's Best Sandwich: slices of apple with melted cheddar and honey-mustard. There's also a full gourmet coffee bar. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Classic American diner |
400 East Saratoga Street Baltimore, MD 21202-3629 United States +1 410 962 5379 |
This downtown eatery was the main location for Baltimore-born film director Barry Levinson's coming-of-age film classic "Diner." It was also featured in the movie "Sleepless in Seattle," and was a frequent location for the dramatic TV series "Homicide." If its chrome exterior and homey interior looks familiar, that's why. But it's also special in another sense. It is run by the non-profit Chesapeake Center for Youth Development, which hires at-risk youth to serve up the wonderfully prepared classic American diner fare. Review © 2007, Wcities |
