An elegant and gracious treat |
1000 Lancaster Street Baltimore, MD 21202 United States +1 410 332 7373 http://www.charlestonrestauran... |
It's easy to forget - except, of course during the sweltering summer months - that Baltimore is, essentially, a southern town. But it's always easy to appreciate this downtown restaurant's elegant, yet simple, French-inspired Southern cuisine. Take the fried oysters, for instance, in their golden-brown cornmeal batter, or the crab soup that's as creamy as most bisques. These are true examples of gracious living. Add the tranquil, pastel-colored decor and the expert service and you come up with a most enjoyable dining experience. Review © 2007, Wcities |

French attack |
1609 Sulgrave Avenue Baltimore, MD 21209 United States +1 410 542 9000 http://www.crepedujour.com/ |
Mustapha and Donna Snoussi have journeyed from an upscale kiosk in 1997 to this full fledged restaurant in the year 2000. Even after a move, this restaurant has managed to retain a crowd of faithful customers thanks to its charming French wiles. The warm sunlit terrace, friendly atmosphere, colorful interiors and typical Parisian cafe ambience make for relaxed, casual meals. Start of with a belly warming French Onion Soup Cratinée or a crepe like the Crêpe Norvegienne (smoked salmon, cheese, tomato & cream sauce). Try the delicious entrees like Chicken Fricasse or chose from a range of paninis, salads and crepes. Don't miss the yummy French desserts like the Crêpe Suzette. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Nothing but the best! |
1200 North Charles Street Baltimore, MD 21201 United States +1 410 837 9999 http://www.limogesbistro.com/ |
If divine French fare is what you are craving, head to this bistro, located just a few blocks from the Washington Monument. Limoges was awarded the Best New Restaurant of 2005 award. Although the menu features authentic cuisine, you will notice some Spanish influences. Balance the meal with one of the smooth reds or sparkling whites off the winelist; the selection comprises of the best from around the world. The non-pretentious atmosphere and friendly service create an informal setup. Hmmm...French food couldn't get any better! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Offbeat French and Creole cuisine |
1708 Aliceanna Street Fells Point Baltimore, MD 21231 United States +1 410 327 2610 |
This quiet, elegant restaurant boasts an African mahogany bar, wrought iron fixtures and handsome chandeliers. Here, the chef offers a seamless blend of Creole and French creations. Blackened meats, such as the Blackened Buffalo Delmonico, are a specialty. Not in the mood for steak? Try the succulent Shrimp-and-Corn Gumbo. Served with rice and Broccolini, it may be the best dish on the menu. The restaurant also offers great service, a fine wine list and incredible desserts. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The Northwest Baltimore neighborhood of Roland Park is one of the city's prettiest. Full of beautiful old homes and ancient oaks, it's the perfect setting for this French-style bistro. The fare is simple, with piquant sauces and perfectly prepared meats. From the Mussels Provencale to the Grilled Lamb Brochette, you just can't go wrong. Plus, there are more than 100 excellent, and very affordable, wines available. You'll definitely want to linger: the hardwood floors, dark paneling, brass fixtures and elegant table settings provide a wonderful atmosphere. Review © 2007, Wcities |
