Asashi Sushi

Modest menu attracts loyal following
629 South Broadway
Baltimore, MD 21231-2915
United States
+1 410 534 4255
A Hello-Kitty sake figurine greets patrons in the dining room, which is dominated by a long sushi bar. The atmosphere is cozy, the food delicious. Salmon Terriyaki, several Katsu dishes and a wide selection of creative sushi rolls are available. Try the Asashi Special, filled with deep-fried shrimp, crab and avacado, or the Fells Point roll. It's filled with eel and avocado wrapped in fresh tuna. If you prefer your food cooked, try the Tan Katsu, a breaded pork chop served with rice and covered in a savory sauce.

Club Ten, also known as the Club X Ultra Lounge, is a blend of attitude, class and style. You can head to one of two sections: a VIP room, or the downstairs lounge and bar area. The interiors are snazzy, with dark leather couches, hardwood floors and plasma TVs on the walls. Bright purple and blue neon lights will leave you dazzled. The bar has an elegant counter top, and serves an array of divine concoctions. Diverse and upbeat music plays constantly, and be sure to dabble in the tapas and sushi. The prices are a tad high, but corporate yuppies don't seem to feel the pinch!

Try out this Japanese restaurant, which opened in 1997 and is located at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. Warm up with a soup, choosing between the Miso and Shumai soups. Enjoy the appetizers like the Baby Octopus, Jelly Fish, and scallop salads. Finish with the Double Spicy Crabmeat Maki and Lobster Tail Tempura Roll. Wash it down with a beverage like Japanese Ice Green Tea or Ramune. Order a takeaway and let your friends relish the dishes you did!

Hoang's Seafood Grill and Sushi Bar

A blend of Asian dishes
1619 Sulgrave Avenue
Baltimore, MD 21209

Or be daring and order the Gator Handroll, a combination of tuna, hot pepper, mayonnaise and scallions. All dishes are prepared to order and cooked without MSG. The restaurant does a brisk takeout business, so call in advance if you want to spare yourself a wait.

Joung Kak

Great Korean barbecue
18 West 20th Street
Baltimore, MD 21218
United States
+1 410 837 5231 / +1 410 837 5235
The menu at this busy midtown restaurant includes Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisine. Not satisfied with just the traditional offerings, the chef has also created a few of his own, like the Seafood Pancake, a pizza-sized loaf containing squid, shrimp and scallions. But the specialty here is Korean Barbecue, cooked at your table in a huge, brass-covered pot. The decor is sleek and polished, and the ventilation hoods over the tables give the dining room a very modern look.

Kawasaki

Fresh seafood, delightful Japanese cuisine
413 North Charles Street
Baltimore, MD 21202
United States
+1 410 659 7600
http://kawasaki-restaurant.com/
info@Kawasaki-Restaurant.com
Named after Baltimore's sister city, this is the city's oldest continuously open Japanese restaurant. Paper lanterns and rows of chopsticks in a handsome glass case add an air of authenticity to the decor. For starters, try an intriguing combination of sushi, chef's choice. If you're not willing to leave your palette in the chef's hands, order the smoked salmon or raw tuna rolls. For an entree, consider the vegetarian sushi dinner or the Chicken Katsu, white meat fried to a golden brown. Cash is accepted also.

This restaurant attracts huge crowds. It has a perfect combination of good food and a great view of Baltimore's dock. A sister concern of the Kawasaki restaurant in Baltimore, this joint offers Japanese, American and Mediterranean fare. That apart, the cafe loves to experiment and you'd be wise to ask about the meal of the day. Choose between the shrimp, vegetable and combination Tempuras. Try the Eel Roll or the Oshinko & Carrot Roll. Relish the soups like the Zaru Soba and Cold Udon. Check out the dishes from the sushi bar like Sushi and Sashami Combo. If you haven't already, do visit the Kawasaki restaurant in the same city.

Proving that good things do indeed come in small packages, this tiny restaurant serves succulent sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine. The tastefully decorated dining and Sushi bar area is tiny, but thanks to a friendly staff, and nice lighting, that atmosphere is one of relaxed intimacy. Sushi fans will delight not only in the vast selection of rolls and pieces, but in the absolutely first rate ingredients, and the beautiful presentation. The cooked selections are also wonderful, featuring light but savory sauces and lots of crisp vegetables.

Minato in Japanese means 'harbor', which is close to the restaurant's location. Japanese cuisine at its best is what you get at this venue. A casual atmosphere and a friendly staff greet you. Owner-chef Alex Tran cooks up mouth watering preparations. Treat your guests to their tasty preparations; either invite them over to the restaurant or just choose the venue and the food will make its way to you - yes, they offer delivery services!

New No Da Ji Restaurant

Sushi lover's paradise
2501 North Charles Street
Baltimore, MD 21218-4602
United States
+1 410 235 4846
If you like Asian cuisine, there's bound to be something to delight you at this busy Charles Village restaurant. Here, you'll find a full range of Chinese, Korean and Japanese dishes. Highlights include the Korean barbecue and the reasonably priced buffet, which includes many of the menu's best selections. But the real star here is the sushi. The a-la-carte menu is small, but the pieces are big and the presentation is lovely. The cherry-red carpet notwithstanding, the décor is modest and tasteful.

Great sushi and noodles
1035 South Charles Street
Baltimore, MD 21230
United States
+1 410 837 0816 / +1 410 837 0818
This elegant restaurant serves great sushi and traditional Japanese noodles. You will find a wonderful selection of hand rolls, made with your choice of shrimp, avocado or soft shell crab. All rolls are artistically presented and served with ginger and wasabi. For heartier fare, consider ordering a bowl of Nabe Yaki Udon, a traditional Japanese noodle served in a clear, mild broth, or a teriyaki dish with chicken, steak, seafood or vegetables. The tempura, lightly battered meats and vegetables, is also a good choice. Nichiban also features a carry-out menu online.

Baltimore, MD 21218

Located in the charming and centrally located Charles Village neighborhood, this relaxed, casual restaurant serves up first-rate, yet moderately priced, Korean and Japanese cuisine. Take a seat at the sushi bar and feast on fresh tuna, salmon and mackerel, or find a quiet booth and enjoy the delicious hot dishes. The Be Bim Bop—a bowl of rice, mixed vegetables and meat, with a fried egg on top—is comfort food at its best. The understated Asian décor and fresh flowers add to the tranquil atmosphere.
