Pioneering tapas tavern |
Carrer de Sepúlveda 173 Barcelona 08011 +34 93 4547094 |
This tapas bar opened more than 50 years ago in the Poble Sec area, where famous Catalan singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat was born and close to Sant Antoni Market. The best tapas here are cheese and assorted cold meats, with smoked specialities coming in second. You can actually take a gastronomic tour of the Iberian Peninsula here, thanks to the select choices from Salamanca, León, Vic and more. There are more than 80 destinations to choose from. However, if you fancy something typically Catalan, try the Catalan beans, the Esqueixada (marinated cod salad), or the Cod a La Llauna (in a slightly spicy sauce). Review © 2009, Wcities |
