This café opened in 1929 opposite the Gran Teatre del Liceu (Opera House) and has since become a landmark. The eclectic interior decor artfully combines three very different styles: 19th-century, art nouveau and art deco. The two floors and terrace on Las Ramblas are always packed with tourists and locals alike. The first floor is a good spot for a quiet coffee in a relaxing atmosphere. The selection of coffees, beers and pastries is simply excellent.
