The ever-changing menu at the home-like Casa Joana gives patrons an excuse to keep coming back. The seasonal preparations are reminiscent of a Spanish mama's kitchen, with tender meats, fresh fish, salads and pasta on charcoal fires. Dig into a hearty Cod "a la Llauna" with Santa Pau beans, grilled rabbit with garlic mayonnaise, or salmon carpaccio, for a taste of Catalan cuisine. A lunchtime set menu gives the wallet a break as well. The personal, friendly service explains the number of families that populate the joint on weekends. While reservations are not necessary, it would be advisable to come early and grab a table.
