Typical Barcelona Gothic |
Rambla de Catalunya 115 Barcelona, Barcelona 08008 |
Seeing a medieval church on such a luxurious boulevard is something quite rare and surprising, but there is an explanation for this. The church, which dates from the end of the 14th century, was originally located at the top of what is now Via Laietana, and it was moved stone by stone to Rambla Catalunya in 1880. It is a parish church with only one nave, chapels between the buttresses and a semicircular apse. In short, it is typical of the Gothic style in Barcelona. Review © 2009, Wcities |
