Gaudi was commissioned to build this convent by Father Enric d'Osso, and it was completed sometime between 1888 to 1890. This huge convent school for Teresian nuns challenged Gaudi to combine functionality and economics with aesthetics. The building is largely made up of brick and stone, with interesting arches and loads of natural light. Yet, this large structure is considered relatively sober compared to his other works, and is definitely worth a visit. Review © 2009, Wcities |
