One of the oldest markets of its kind in Europe, its origins can be traced back to the initial development of the postal system in 1890. It takes place every Sunday morning in Plaça Reial. You'll find a fascinating display of stamps, coins, notes, cigar bands, badges and medals being pored over by collectors of all sorts. Even if you're not a collector it's worth coming to savour the atmosphere, and you can have drinks and tapas at one of the many bars in the square. Free event. Review © 2009, Wcities |
