Barcelona |
Gràcia has a detached and rather separate feel from the rest of Barcelona, probably due to its long history of independence (Gràcia only became incorporated into the city proper at the turn of the 19th century) from the rest of the metropolis. Though only a 20-minute walk from the Plaça Catalunya, the balcony-fronted buildings and peaceful squares seem a world away from the bustle of the city. Today, Gràcia has a distinct bohemian vibe that is easy to soak up in the area's many cafés and student hangouts. Review © 2009, Wcities |
