This cultural centre is located in the old Casa Macaya, built by the prestigious modernist architect, Puig i Cadafalch, in 1901. It really is a magnificent modernist building, the Gothic style combined with Arabic influences resulted in one of the most curious and original buildings in Barcelona. Both national and international artists show paintings, photographs, sculptures and ceramics in alternating exhibitions here. They also frequently do exhibitions on the most primitive and remote cultures of this planet.
