Barcelona |
South of the Barri Gòtic you'll find the eclectic neighborhood of La Ribera. This area is marked by the bold monument to Christopher Columbus, which towers over the port at the end of Las Ramblas. The monument stands 51 metres tall, and features a confident Columbus pointing stoically to the New World. Because this is one of Barcelona's central neighborhoods it boasts some of the city's oldest and narrowest streets as well as some of its best real estate--right on the port. Despite the area's age it has managed to remain vibrant thanks to a diverse population that has expanded rapidly in recent years. Review © 2009, Wcities |
