Take the escalators up to the Palau Nacional, turn right and you'll get a great view of Mies van der Rohe architectural masterpiece, built to house the German Pavilion during the 1929 Universal Exhibition. The innovative design broke new ground in its use of space and industrial materials like glass and stone and it has influenced subsequent modern architects. Review © 2009, Wcities
