Swimming in Olympic water |
Av. Estadi 30 Barcelona 08038 +34 93 423 4041 |
In the centre of the Olympic Ring you find these swimming pools which date back to 1969 and which were completely renovated from top to bottom for the '92 Olympic Games. The water polo competitions were one of the various water sports held here. It's made up of two pools measuring 50 meters each. During the summer the pools are open until the wee hours of the morning for a nocturnal dip! As with all the other Olympic facilities found on Montjuïc, getting here is a bit of a pain. If you haven't got your own car, then the easiest and most direct way is to take bus 61. Otherwise you need to take the metro to Paral.lel and then catch the funicular, which takes you right up to the Stadium, just a few meters from the pools. Review © 2009, Wcities |
