The Royal Crescent and Royal Victoria Park are very close by and most definitely within walking distance. Greenways is a superbly presented, reasonably priced bed and breakfast. It offers private parking for two cars but there's plenty of on street parking available. Although only having three en suite rooms, every care has been taken with decor and comfort, which puts them on a par with far higher priced accommodation. The city and its attractions are literally a ten-minute walk away with no gradients to make life difficult. Budding 'Captains' could even hire a boat from the nearby Victorian boating station and glide into the city in style! Pets are welcome by arrangement and vegetarians are catered for. The friendliest pub in Bath... probably |
21 Newbridge Hill Bath, North East Somerset BA1 3PW United Kingdom +44 1225 42 3324 |
This tiny pub on the western outskirts has won the ultimate accolade of 'Friendliest Pub In Bath' and always extends a warm welcome to customers old and new. Dubious decor aside, it's an ideal spot for a quick pint especially if you are traveling alone and feel the need for human contact. There's a dartboard and pool table in the back room and food is served whenever the landlord can be bothered. Rooms are available above the pub and are cheap and functional. How cheap? That all depends on how much the landlord thinks that you can afford. Either way, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and a warm bed - but maybe not a hot meal. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Toghill Bath BS30 5RT United Kingdom +44 (0)1225 89 1261 http://www.toghillhousefarm.co... |
If you leave the motorway and proceed towards Bath, you will easily find Toghill House Farm. Built in the seventeenth century as a retreat for monks, it has great views over the city of Bristol yet is only a few miles from the centre of Bath. This is a bona fide working farm where guests are free to participate in everyday farming activities if they so wish. All rooms are en suite. Pets and children are welcome by arrangement and special breaks are available on request. Because it is outside the city, there is plenty of car parking. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Modern farmhouse |
Sandy Lane Stanton Drew Bath, North East Somerset BS39 4EL United Kingdom +44 1275 332723 |
Stanton Drew was ancient in the days when London was new. The village itself is famous for its standing stones, sometimes referred to as Druid Stones. Actually they're a lot older than Druidic times although no one has really proved who the people were who put them there. Valley Farm is much newer than this, being a modern farmhouse built with all amenities. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and are suitable for those with mobility problems. Surrounded by rolling countryside, Valley Farm offers the peace and quiet of the country after the noise and bustle of the city, and makes an ideal base for visitors interested in visiting either Bristol or Bath. Victorian house overlooking pastures |
Claverton Down Road Bath, North East Somerset BA2 7AS United Kingdom +44 1225 462322 |
Enjoy bed and breakfast in a small establishment that is not too far by car from the city centre, yet is set in its own grounds of one acre and overlooks rolling green pastures. If you wish to leave the car behind, public transport is available to take you into the city. Dating from Victorian times, Wansdyke House has only two letting rooms so you can be assured of a warm and personal welcome from the resident proprietors. A full and hearty breakfast is provided both in its traditional form and for vegetarians. It should be noted that Wansdyke House is closed over Christmas and New Year. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Wheelwrights Arms |
Church Lane Monkton Combe Bath, North East Somerset BA2 7HB United Kingdom +44 1225 72 2287 www.wheelwrightsarms.co.uk |
The Wheelwrights Arms has built up something of a reputation over the years. It is situated in the lovely Midford Valley just a few miles out from Bath and in a village setting. Most accommodation is in the converted stables at the rear of the property and it definitely suits those who savor a peaceful room yet reasonably priced food and drink in a bar where locals gather. Like the inn, the rooms are situated on level ground which makes them ideal for the disabled or those with mobility difficulties. There is also plenty of parking on site. Tea and coffee making facilities and phones are available in the rooms which are all en suite. Review © 2007, Wcities |
