Greenways is a superbly presented, reasonably priced bed and breakfast. It offers private parking for two cars but there's plenty of on street parking available. Although only having three en suite rooms, every care has been taken with decor and comfort, which puts them on a par with far higher priced accommodation. The city and its attractions are literally a ten-minute walk away with no gradients to make life difficult. Budding 'Captains' could even hire a boat from the nearby Victorian boating station and glide into the city in style! Pets are welcome by arrangement and vegetarians are catered for. It should be noted that this establishment is closed for Christmas but does offer short break rates throughout the rest of the year. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The oldest hotel in Bath |
Lansdown Road Bath, North East Somerset BA1 5EH United Kingdom http://www.marstonhotels.co.uk |
Because it is situated in a turning about half way up Lansdown Hill, guests can be assured of a pretty fair view of the city from the front windows. Parking, and the reception area are at the front of the hotel; the fact that there are superb gardens at the rear is hardly noticeable. Built in Georgian times, the Lansdown Grove has been renovated in recent times to something approaching its past elegance when it was, so legend has it, the first hotel in Bath. A lift is available for those unable to manage the stairs. It is perfectly feasible to walk down Lansdown Hill into the centre of the city. For the less energetic it is advised that they take a taxi-cab back up. Review © 2007, Wcities |
