A small castle |
A36 Warminster Road (Norton Saint Philip) Bath, North East Somerset BA2 6NH United Kingdom +44 1225 72 3040 http://www.bathlodge.com |
If you've always fancied being Lord of the Manor, this is the place for you. Although it looks like a small castle, Bath Lodge Hotel was actually the former Gate House to Farleigh Manor and Castle and was built in 1806. The building is situated in five acres of gardens and forest and although it is about seven miles from Bath, it does have its advantages - one of these being plentiful parking. All bedrooms are en-suite and incorporate some aspect of the building, such as exposed beams and stonework. When the weather allows, a large open fire roars in the lounge. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Victorian house close to the city centre |
Warminster Road Bath, North East Somerset BA2 6SH United Kingdom +44 1225 42 5096 http://www.bathtasburgh.co.uk |
Unusually for Bath, the Bath Tasburgh is brick-built in a city that is predominantly constructed of Bath stone. However, this is still an attractive building and is situated far enough from the A36 to be convenient but not noisy. Although only a short distance from Bath city centre, its extensive gardens stretch down to the Kennet and Avon canal and there are glorious views of the countryside beyond. The real joy here is that if you walk down the gardens to the towpath, you can then follow the canal all the way into the city centre. All rooms are superbly appointed and include en-suite facilities. Some even have four-poster beds and family rooms are also available. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Bed and breakfast with glorious views of the Avon Valley |
Warminster Road Bath, North East Somerset BA2 6SQ United Kingdom +44 1225 46 5838 |
St Leonards is an attractive detached Victorian house, which offers bed and breakfast and boasts of a truly impressive view over the Avon Valley from its glorious gardens. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities yet the house still retains something of its Victorian atmosphere. An important thing that should be noted is that beds are wider than the standard British size usually found in Bed and Breakfast accommodation - an important consideration for our American visitors. Pets are catered for by arrangement and there is a ground floor bedroom for those who cannot manage the stairs. It should be noted that this is a non-smoking establishment. Short breaks are available. Please ask for details. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Old coaching inn near Bath |
Selwood Street Bath BA11 3PN United Kingdom +44 (0)1373 81 2254 http://www.talbotinn.fsn.net |
Sample the traditional hospitality of an old coaching inn complete with a cobbled courtyard, low beamed ceilings and old English ales served straight from the casks. For centuries the Talbot has catered for the needs of travellers although nowadays you can expect far more than a straw pallet, a mug of mead and bread and cheese. The Talbot welcomes visitors with a cosy bar and an excellent menu. Because of its situation the inn is ideal for those wanting to explore both Bath and the surrounding area including Cheddar and Longleat House. Pets and children are welcome by arrangement and there is a ground floor room for those with mobility problems. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Modern farmhouse |
Sandy Lane Stanton Drew Bath, North East Somerset BS39 4EL United Kingdom +44 1275 332723 |
Stanton Drew was ancient in the days when London was new. The village itself is famous for its standing stones, sometimes referred to as Druid Stones. Actually they're a lot older than Druidic times although no one has really proved who the people were who put them there. Valley Farm is much newer than this, being a modern farmhouse built with all amenities. All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and are suitable for those with mobility problems. Surrounded by rolling countryside, Valley Farm offers the peace and quiet of the country after the noise and bustle of the city, and makes an ideal base for visitors interested in visiting either Bristol or Bath. Old red brick manor house |
Woolley Green Bath, Wiltshire BA15 1TX United Kingdom +44 1225 86 4705 http://www.woolleygrange.com |
Built of warm, red brick in the seventeenth century, this lovely manor house is within walking distance of Bradford on Avon and only eight miles from Bath. A place of mullioned windows and tall chimneys, it is a delight on a summer's evening to walk through the grounds and hear little except the night song of birds and insects. You could almost imagine yourself walking into the past. Woolley Grange is very much a family orientated hotel and, in fact, has won an award for its child facilities. Pets are catered for by arrangement and, for those who cannot resist the temptation, a golf course is not too far away. Review © 2007, Wcities |
