Let them bewitch you |
5358 College Avenue Berkeley, CA 94618 United States +1 510 595 0889 |
Some of the best in traditional American wood can be found at this small shop where the furniture is literally stacked up to the ceiling. Aunt Bill and Emma (yes, real people) stock wingback chairs, an abundance of tables and vanities, chests, rockers and much more. Depending on what has come and gone that week, much of it literally spills out on the sidewalk. For reasons of which they are not entirely sure, they carry a large selection of china items. They also buy and appraise any piece that you are willing to part with, and offer free delivery on any purchase. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Gifts through the looking glass |
2632 Ashby Avenue Berkeley, CA 94705 United States +1 510 841 9891 |
Shopping here is rather like slipping through Lewis Carroll's looking glass. Dried flowers, French silk ribbons, antique figurines of saints, earrings, odd-shaped vases and an ever-changing selection of curios await you in a carefully arranged jumble. The net effect is rather surreal and, on the whole, pleasant. You will feel as if you have slipped out of the hurry-scurry 21st century and into a dreamy past of perfect gifts.
