Once the ticket office for the sightseeing boats which sailed down the Landwehrkanal canal, Ankerklause is now one of Berlin's most happening bars. The interior reflects the 'anti-fashion' concept of the nineties, but this seems to go down well with the punters, who start to pour in as early as midday after a visit to the nearby market. The atmosphere is very Kreuzberg, although Ankerklause is actually located in the neighbouring district of Neukölln. Review © 2009, Wcities
