Situated in the Hungarian Cultural Centre, Balázs cinema is a relict of the East German era, an elongated box of a building close to Alexanderplatz. But not everything about socialist architecture was bad. The impressive interior is vastly different from what one usually sees in Western cinemas, with classic wooden features and plenty of space. The cinema shows current productions, retrospectives and plenty of Hungarian movies, such as the 8-hour epic Sátántángó.
