This French restaurant, located in the eastern city centre, was founded in 1853 by A.F.W. Borchardt. The unique decor conjures up an atmosphere of purity and elegance with the columns and mosaics lending a ceremonial air to the interior. Favoured by politicians, actors and sports personalities, Borchardt's is a firm fixture on Berlin's gastronomic map. Dishes such as fillet of beef with herb butter and potatoes make an excellent choice; anticipation of the imminent arrival of yet another VIP only serves to enhance the experience.
